Don't forget
Vote by August 4th!

YES on Amendment 1
Amendment 1 will renew for 10 more years an existing 0.1% sales tax that goes to support soil and water conservation efforts, state parks, and historic sites.

NO on Amendment 4
Amendment 4 will make it much harder for Missouri voters to use initiative petitions to change our state laws. A small minority of voters could veto any amendment put forth by the people.

NO on Amendment 5
Amendment 5 will let state legislators raise sales taxes on a wide range of goods and services without voter approval. The wealthy will pay less while everyone else will pay more.

The St. Louis County Democrats have unanimously voted to endorse the following votes regarding amendments on the August 4 primary election ballot: Amendment 1: YES ✅ Amendment 4: NO ❌ Amendment 5: NO ❌
St. Louis County Democrats Make Endorsements for
Amendments on August 4, 2026, Primary Election Ballot

(St. Louis, MO - June 2, 2026) Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe signed proclamations placing Amendment 1, Amendment 2
(HJR 23/3), Amendment 4 (HJR 3), and Amendment 5 (HJR 173/174) on the August 4, 2026, primary election ballot.

The St. Louis County Democrats have unanimously voted to endorse the following recommendations for these amendments:

Amendment 1 - Vote YES

“We support a continuation of funds so that Missourians can remain proud stewards of our state’s conservation efforts and state parks,” said Jessica LaBozzetta, Chair of the St. Louis County Democrats.

Amendment 4 - Vote NO

This Amendment effectively ends the majority rule vote for our citizen-led initiative petition process by allowing any single congressional district to veto any amendment put forth by the people. LaBozzetta says, "The initiative petition process has been used successfully multiple times in recent years to rein in overzealous efforts by Republican legislators who continue to disregard the will of the voters. This is one of the last mechanisms we have left to move Missouri forward when the Republican party - time and again - tries to move Missouri backwards. Now they want to make it harder for Missourians to hold them accountable for their disastrous actions. Absolutely not. We vote NO."

Amendment 5 - Vote NO

Amendment 5 allows legislators to disregard previous income tax protections already approved by the voters and raise new sales taxes on everything - without voter approval - increasing the tax burden on the lower and middle class. "Republican politicians in Missouri want to phase out the income tax and instead tax EVERYTHING which will continue to drive up prices on goods and services for everyone and hurt hard working Missourians who are already struggling. The wealthy will pay less, while everyone else will pay more. We vote NO."
