The President is already using every tool at his disposal to intervene in our elections this November.

The TV ads that President Trump was running during football games were airing across the country, and there are serious questions about the use of taxpayer dollars to pay for them.

This isn't the only time in our country's history that we've had a rough period, even if it sometimes feels that way. About every generation we have an existential moment like the one we're having. So, how do we get through it?

A house is the most visible part of the American dream. If people can’t buy their first home, they get stuck.

One of the key tools authoritarians use is fear. Just think about what Trump has done to institutions that don’t bow down to him.

In our Intel Briefing this week, I focused on four things: 1️⃣ Where are we on manufacturing jobs in Michigan 2️⃣Don Jr’s Russian-oligarch-funded wedding 3️⃣The anniversary of the Grand Blanc tragedy and what we can do now 4️⃣The President’s taxpayer funded TV ads

We need to make clear to the public that corruption at the top is taking money directly out of their pockets. When Trump gains, you lose.

Hearing firsthand about how the Hungarians have reclaimed their government gave me some real sparks of hope. Just five months ago, a pro-democracy movement in Hungary achieved what many thought was impossible. They beat their authoritarian leader.

From a few weeks ago. Not a view of Michigan you see everyday: Saginaw Bay and the start of the Thumb in the distance. (And on a Blackhawk flown by the MI National Guard!)

We’re coming up on 30 days until the election, and people are worried about our elections. First and foremost, YES: our elections are safe and secure. Our elections are administered by the states, and despite attempts by the president to interfere, our democracy is standing tall and pushing back.

The American people are looking for a path through the dark and into the light. But right now, there are two fundamentally different visions of America. President Trump thinks America is the Titanic, and he's charging the passengers for a seat on the lifeboat.

There is a well-worn authoritarian playbook: when a leader feels like they’re in trouble, they create a crisis that only they can solve. That’s my biggest concern as we get closer to the November elections. President Trump has been using every tool at his disposal to affect the outcome in November.

I’ve been asking the administration for a year and a half to be clear about the role of the military in our elections. I wrote to the Secretary of Defense, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, the Secretary of Homeland Security and the Attorney General asking them to put it on the record.

President Trump has taken the presidential pardon to a completely new place. He has developed a bit of a marketplace for convicted felons to get a presidential pardon. We should ban the presidential pardon. It should not be available to any president under any circumstances.

President Trump’s sloppy tariffs have cost us not once, but twice. And while some big companies got refunds, you still had to pay more. Let’s take a look at how these sloppy tariffs made you pay.

Right now, we have what we call elevator courage. My Republican colleagues will tell us privately in the elevator from the basement to the second floor what they really believe, and then come out on the floor and support the President and vote the right way.

In just a few short years, Michigan has gone from farmers dumping milk because we didn’t have enough processing facilities, to having one of the biggest facilities in the country. And our cows produce more milk per cow than anywhere in the country! That’s huge!

There is a growing body of evidence that Chinese companies are helping Iran target and kill American troops, keep Iran's drone and missile programs alive and sustain Iran's economy. There needs to be accountability. Read more: www.wsj.com/politics/chi...

Chinese cars are driving spy machines, and the video, lidar and geolocation data they collect all goes back to Beijing. Our bill stops these cars from entering the United States and protects our national security.

Taking a chainsaw instead of a scalpel to the Department of Education made no sense. Now we need to focus on a vision of rebuilding it that works for teachers and students. That includes young educators in Houghton and Ironwood.

The president himself said he’s open to Chinese companies coming in, setting up shop, making Chinese cars here. And I just wanna say, as Michigan’s senator, that is the beginning of the end of the American auto industry.

President Trump has a habit of rolling out the red carpet for our adversaries, while punching our allies in the mouth. He made the decision that it is okay to sell our most sophisticated chips to China.

There are reports that Chinese companies are providing information to Iran to target American service members and facilities. President Trump has a responsibility, as commander-in-chief, to raise this issue with China and establish clear red lines.

Ahead of this week’s meeting with China, President Trump has said he will consider allowing Chinese automakers to set up shop and build cars in the U.S. If that happens, it is the beginning of the end for U.S. auto manufacturing. That is not going to happen on my watch as a Michigan senator.

Chinese companies are fueling Iran’s war machine by buying oil, providing targeting information, and selling weapons and components to the Iranian government. We now know that some of that targeting information may have led to the death of three U.S. soldiers.

The President should not invite Chinese automakers to set up shop in the United States. This is quite literally an attempt by Chinese companies to get their foot in the door of the American market. This is a national security and an economic security issue. We should not give an inch.

This is very important news especially as ballots start to go out in Michigan: The Supreme Court has denied President Trump’s effort to use the Postal Service to restrict who gets to vote by mail. I had an interesting exchange with the Postmaster General on this a few weeks ago.

Independent unions like the @uaw.org are banned in China. Workers who try to fight for better wages or benefits are often imprisoned or disappeared. It’s one of the many ways the Chinese Communist Party works to undercut American manufacturing.

I wanted to hear very clearly from Secretary Hegseth and from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs that they would not respond to an illegal order and deploy the uniformed military at polling locations. Chairman Caine came back and said that very clearly.
