My roomie has one every night now. It’s better than double stuffed Oreos.

#Valheim 1. Main base 2. Outpost by the river 3. mini refuge for night time

A Valheim screenshot of my main base on top of a hill with a house and a vaulted 2nd level roof to keep the rain off my fire pit but allow the smoke to dissipate. Front wood walls have a single point entry opening and then a live stock gate inside after that. Trees and grass all around.

A small house im inside with a bed and wooden walls with gaps under the awnings to allow smoke to dissipate. I have drops of water on my player indicating I was wet from the rain. An open front door that I later closed.

A small covering with 1 wall and a roof covering my work bench so I could build a fire and shrug off the cold night. Next to a rune stone.

My review of THX 1138 #LetterBoxd #FilmSky letterboxd.com/PaddyJuan/

THX 11381971
Watched 26 Sep 2026
This review may contain spoilers.

I wonder if this directors career will go anywhere? This is George Lucas' debut student project art film. I am seeing some amazing dystopian scifi themes. Looks like many people ripped him off. Like Equilibrium and Terminator 2.

The concept of "work will set you free" is broached. This was a nazi slogan above famous concentration camps. There are definite connections to the holocaust and fascism. The presence of radiation as part of work must be some cold war fear. This was years before the Chernobyl accident.

I see influences from Philip K Dick Android novel, Dune and Brave New World.

An interesting watch, not totally entertaining as the pacing is slow. But worth a watch.

A post from 2024 I made about Freydis Eriksdottir and the Vinland Saga:

Metal moments in history:
During the 10th century colonization of Vinland a pregnant woman, Freydís Eiríksdóttir, shouts a battle cry at "Skraeling" combatants while hitting her bare breast with a sword. The indigenous warriors retreat.

Art monochrome drawing of Freydis and the Skraelings. Freydis holds a knife high and exposes a breast to native combatants.
