This former golf course has been turned into a nature reserve 💚 Sandilands is designed to help nature thrive. The reserve is expected to provide important habitat for birds and forms part of the internationally important East Coast Flyway, one of Europe's major migration routes.

As the tree regrows, we will work with partners and local communities to celebrate the tree’s legacy but - for now - the stump has grown a thick ring of new shoots which are two to three feet tall, and we're filled with hope by the way nature is taking its course. Photos: Annapurna Mellor

This modernist home has been given to the National Trust. Designed by renowned architects Richard + Su Rogers, the house is regarded as one of the most important examples of modern British architecture. Many of the ideas developed there would go on to influence some of his most famous buildings.

Today's #outinthefield post takes us to Clumber Park in celebration of #NottinghamshireDay. For over three centuries, Clumber Park was the country estate of the Dukes of Newcastle. Although the house was taken down in 1938, there are many glimpses of its grand past to explore. 🧵

Unusually dry conditions have uncovered a hidden chapter of Llandeilo's wartime past at Dinefwr in Carmarthenshire. Marks revealed in the landscape by the prolonged dry weather have exposed the outlines of former Nissen huts that once stood within the historic park. 🧵 @nationaltrust.org.uk
