Twitch has announced it will open monetization tools to most streamers this year. They will also let streamers use earnings on purchases within Twitch.

We want you to be able to take advantage of our monetization tools, whether you’re just getting your community started, or have been on Twitch for a while.

In 2025, we’re excited to open up monetization tools—subscriptions and bits—to most streamers, from day one. This will allow creators, regardless of their status, to grow their communities and start building earnings through direct patronage.
We’re also introducing an option, which will allow all streamers to use their earnings on purchases within Twitch.

Your let's plays can and should be shipped to YouTube as an archive. You can directly export any highlight right to YouTube and even do so privately to avoid bombarding your subs. If you multistream to YouTube, you don't even need to worry about this anymore.

This is not the first time we've seen Twitch subs getting canceled due to an error. Covering a month of losses does not make up for the viewers who will forget or choose not to renew their sub. Baffling this has happened again!

An email from Twitch: Hi Lowco,

We found some subscriptions were incorrectly paused in January and stopped renewing. This was an isolated incident and has been fixed. To make it right, we’re issuing payouts to reflect the value of one month of subscriptions canceled. This will be included in your upcoming payouts. We recognize this is inconvenient, and we apologize for the frustration it’s caused.

We recognize this is also a disappointing experience for your affected subscribers. If they resubscribe within 20 days of the sub expiring, we’ll also be able to restore their sub streak.
