@futurebird @pattykimura Wait is the Google answer right or wrong for this?
Google search results saying Nylanderia flavipes is the scientific name for the yellow-footed ant.

Back on June 19th I learned about SHOWER BEER — new to me, but www.reddit.com/r/showerbeer (NSFW ofc) has been around since 2011 so I'm just way behind. But then Dinosaur Comics mentioned shower beer on June 26, so I'm guessing I'm not the only one with that particular #nytxw #til.
The entry SHOWER BEER in the New York Times Crossword on June 19th, 2026SHOWER BEER appearing in Dino Comics https://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=4489 on June 26th, 2026.
T. rex says: People are like "oh, shower beers! You gotta try a beer in the shower! SHOWER BEERS!!"

I learn so many things from doing puzzles. For example this week I learned that Connections creator Wyna Liu does not have the cot-caught distinction. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cot%E2%80%93c… #connections #rhyming #TooManyVowels
Screenshot of NYT connections category "Starting with bird homophones" including the word "HOCKEY". The way I pronounce things, HAWK and HOCK do not rhyme.

I would just like to say that Katie Hoody's NYTimes crossword puzzle today has an absolutely beautiful grid. Nice puzzle too! But just look at that in black and white. #nytxw
A 15x15 grid of black-and-white squares suitable for a crossword puzzle. The grid has 90° rotational symmetry. Each corner of the grid holds a stack of three 10-letter-long entries, arranged in a pinwheel and filling the entire outside of the grid. The ring formed by those 3-by-10 stacks is held together by a central 9-by-9 square whose black squares are all singletons, each surrounded by 8 white squares, and all arranged a knight's move apart from each other, in the manner of a 5-harness satin weave.
