thinking about a man with a cherubic face and crescent eyes smile who once was and still held his heart. — The End. 끝.

But unbeknownst to jm, somewhere in a luxury penthouse in the city that never sleeps, jk was sitting by the big window at night while looking out to the city. Mindlessly staring ahead to the shimmering lights in the dark sky with a glass of wine in his hand,

another goodbye for the second time. He didn’t think his heart could handle that heartbreak again. So jm could only indulge in his dream where he actually could see the younger man. The only place where he allowed himself to bask in the happiness of being loved by someone so fiercely and devotedly.

Sometimes his hand twitched and he almost reached out to his phone, but he stopped himself before he could do something foolish. And each time, he almost did make a call. But in the end, jm never dared to do that because he feared rejection. He’s afraid to say hello to jk, just for risking to say

He was thinking if somehow in the big city of New York, jk was also sleepless at night and thinking about him too. Sometimes he wondered if he picked up his phone to call the man, would he answer him? If he ever told him that he’d missed him, would he believe him and say that he’d miss him too?

his mind would always drift away to the man that he had loved with everything he had before he lost consciousness and fell asleep -and sometimes with lonely tears in his eyes-. His last thought before the restless sleep took over him were always the same.

So he persistently endured, while weeping for his broken heart. Wishing for the days when it would be less painful. Hoping for the day this heartache would simply become a bittersweet memory. But who was he kidding? Because his heart could never fully heal and the memories would be always

that he’d had since he was young when his parents were still alive and always encouraged him to follow his dream. They really believe that jm could become someone that he’d always dreamt of and they always told him that they always knew that jm would make them proud someday.

At least at that moment, he was having jk by his side to comfort and protect him from the world as he’s grieving. But he surely had no one this time and losing jk too was the last thing he ever thought to happen in his life. But he also didn’t want to lose himself and abandon the dream

That was the most miserable moment for jm in his twenty-eight of his life. It hurted so much until he cried for days after that night. His heart bled and it clenched so painfully, more than when he lost his parents in a car accident when he was in high school.

He’s frozen on his seat, while his eyes stayed glued to the closed door where jk’s back was the last thing he saw when the younger closed the door quietly, looking at it with empty eyes as his mind was turning into a mess. He felt so lost. He couldn’t feel what’s real & what’s dream for him anymore.

With those last words of well wishes, jk then left. Walking out the door of his apartment without turning back, leaving him & walking out from his life -for good-. And jm was too dumbfounded, too shocked from the situation that followed by this unexpected decision to even chase after him.

Obviously he couldn’t bear to be close with jm at this moment because it’s too painful for him to accept their separation. To be forced to let go. “I’m happy for you, hyung. For finally having the path to your dream. Congratulations, and I wish you all the best.”

“Maybe we’re the right person at the wrong time right now, so let’s just focus on the life we choose from now on.” Jm swallowed back what he wanted to say when he could hear jk’s voice was wavering as he put the last nail to the coffin before he hastily stood to leave.

He didn’t expect their relationship would come to an end like this but he also realized -without a doubt- that what he actually expected was very selfish and greedy, because, he had wanted to keep both the man and his dream. “But, kook-ah..”

The poignant silence somehow felt so excruciatingly long between them as they lost in their own thoughts, trying to find a way to salvage their relationship. “Let’s break up, hyung..” Jm’s heart plummeted when he heard the final words from the younger man’s lips.

His mouth opened and closed but failed to spill any words as their eyes still locked together, ones in helplessness and ones in resignation. “I always thought that we’re on the same page, and that we both have the same desires for our future. But it seems that I’m the only one who's holding on.”

“Does our love.. Is my love not enough for you to choose me, hyung? Am I not important enough in your life?” “But you know it’s my dream, jk!” “So a life with me was never part of your dream, hm?” Yet Jimin couldn’t answer this one simple question and was totally taken aback.

as he kept staring at the other man intently with his big pleading eyes, looking deeply into jm’s watery ones. Still searching for something, one last sign perhaps, hoping that maybe the older’s decision could sway and he would change his mind. But jk saw none.

Jk chuckled sadly when jm bare his heart, the longing that he had kept for so long in the depth of it, which was now -unfortunately- had became the reason for their inevitable parting ways. “So is that it?” He exasperatedly let out another question though he didn’t need jm’s answer for this one

He looked jk in the eyes with regret and sadness while pulling back his hand from jk’s hold. “I don’t want this important opportunity to be wasted, baby. You, of all people, have always known how much I love ballet and my dream to perform on the world stages.”

At that very moment, jk just knew that he would lose the one man he truly loved from his life. “I— I can't..” Jm replied with a voice that was almost like a whisper, like he was afraid that if he said it too loud then everything around them would shatter.

Jk added desperately while squeezing his small hands in his bigger ones reassuringly after he found jm only stayed quiet to everything that he said. But when he caught the sight of jm’s eyes, he immediately knew that now they’re both doomed and he had lost chance to preserve their relationship.

He then quickly threw another question, asking jm his opinion after giving him a new optional idea so that they can compromise this situation. So that they could continue staying with each other. “That way.. This way you can still fulfill your dream and we can be together too at the same time.”

“Can you— Can you just decline it & come to the states with me instead?” Jk then asked again with hopeful eyes, reaching out to hold jm’s hands in his. “I, I’m sure that we can find the best ballet school in the states as well & you can continue your training there. How is it?”

But who would have known that his family has had another plan for his future and that they wanted to send him to the states next week to fulfill his rightful place and responsibilities as the next sole heir of their empire.

Jm had thought that jk would support him in his decision and previously, he even had a thought that jk would be happy for him and would agree in a heartbeat to come with him & accompany him to Paris while they continued their life together there.

“So you will go to Paris and take their school program?” The younger man finally asked after he listened to jm’s rush explanation, the reason why he couldn't agree and had flatly rejected jk’s idea when he had expressed his wish to start a life somewhere else with jm. “Yes..”
