I'm very happy and proud to release our new album Wink today. It's our 8th album, which is nuts. I know it's dumb to say but, it's our best yet. The way these songs came together was like magic. I've got the best bandmates. Here are all the Wink Links: rubwrongways.com/gentle-hen-w...

This is the kind of thing the algorithm shows me as news. The algorithm doesn’t know me.

Happy birthday to Kate Bush. Even though everyone knows how influential she's been, I don't think people realize how influential she's been.

I'm listening to Robyn Hitchcock's delightful latest album The Confuser, which just came out. Has any other artist had such a consistent decade-spanning catalog? Between 1979's Soft Boys Can of Bees and today, he hasn't strayed a bit from his singular thing. Maybe Jonathan Richman?

Listening to Camper Van Beethoven's Popular Songs of Great Enduring Strength and Beauty. It's been a little while and it's a nice reminder that songs can be pure silly fun and at the same time still carry a whole bunch of nostalgic weight. Our experiences add to the soul of the songs.

Today is Arbor Day. Appreciate a tree if you have the chance. Here's one I saw years ago at Storm King Art Center in NY. We went to see the Feelies, we stayed to see the sculptures. And the trees.

One good thing is that Courtney Barnett has a new album out today. I'm only on the third song and I can already tell this is another classic from one of this era's best songwriters.

I'm listening to the album Laughing Stock by Talk Talk for the first time. I apologize to those of you who find that ludicrous. Sometimes, I miss things. Lots of times, really. Most of the time.

That was 27 days ago, but now the discs are in! Though the album doesn't come out officially for 2 weeks, it is available for "pre-orders" right now and they'll be sent to you almost immediately and will be in your mailbox before you know it. Only 100 were printed.

I've a new single coming out on Feb 6 called "You, So I". It's a pretty simple love song of sorts, something I figure people could use around now. I'm reaching out to DJs, podcasters, music writers. But what about you? Are you a DJ etc? I'd love to get you an advance "copy". Send me a DM? Thanks!

I've never been happier with a remix/remaster than I am with the new Globe of Frogs by @robynhitchcock.bsky.social. Everything has comes to life. You can finally hear the heart and urgency. It's a thousand times larger and a thousand times more intimate. New details and ideas. What a victory.

1/3 Do YOU have a non-holiday-themed album or song that evokes the season? I can't hear the opening guitar on the Yes album Going for the One without feeling that cozy, candle-lit, colored-lights-glowing-above-a-soft-living-room-carpet kind of memory that other traditional seasonal songs inspire.

I've written and recorded a new collection of songs for my next solo album. Now, it's listening to mixes, contemplating the right mood for art and titles in cars, and ear phones, and what landscape fits what song and why? The songs know when they are ready. They're tapping me on the shoulder.

Kate Bush's Hounds of Love album fills my entire body with a deluge of nostalgia. It's like there's a string from an enormous kite attached to my chest and it's tugging me towards an unreachable dream from my past.
