Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Experimenting with color rendering index emulation for an upcoming thing, pretty cool tbh. I need to test to see if emulating eye adjustment is needed or if that will just happen like it does IRL 050
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I didnt have to change anything for this to work, but Blender has now officially been used to control physical lights :) thanks @oddy.dog for helping with the setup 33710
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Video of the system working. Still wild to me this works at all. *May* have some integration updates tommorow, got some other birds at the convention helping me now :3 0225
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Photo that wasnt possible 2 months ago for 300 1539
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Having some fun at MAW messing with lights :3 0110
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Still super happy with how that turned out, i even got the LEDs in the logo now! (Super scuffed impl but itll work for the weekend) 120
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Pinboard still needs to be hung up somewhere. If you cant tell, im struggling to figure out where that location may end up being 😅 All VR equipment is stored in the closet behind the umbra/aqua posters. Tracker spider antenna is mounted to the ceiling, and you can see the mounts for basestations 040
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Okay! Since i realized people might enjoy seeing my room setup, here it is! Still a bit messy on the floor as im preparing for MAW but otherwise this is where everything i collect is displayed. Feel free to zoom in on stuff and have a look around lol. Any questions welcomed! (More photos in replies) 170
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Working on finalizing everything for this weekend. USB ADC is causing delays i gotta figure out, but otherwise the transmitter is now completely standalone. Spins up its own hotspot for the tablet to connect to and everything 170
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 26/09/2026And while i know there are many people out there i have since grown distant to or they have left my sphere of interaction for one reason or another, i am still thankful for the time we were able to share. As a recognition of my time here, here is the oldest photo i have from VRC Again, Thank you <3 0140
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Actively packing things, but the colored print finished so i had to put the demo back together before putting it all away again. Looks great! 29416
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Found a cool thing, theres a esp32 emulator that I can use to emulate the renderer. its slow AF compared to a native esp32 but it does work 040
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Shorter video that just has all the hardware (minus transmitter) setup in a clean way. Each of these devices is running on its own power supply/battery, all individually receiving the full dat from the transmitter 1152
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Audiolink texture recreation using all the data im sending :) 1242
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Totally didnt spend all morning working on this..... Nooooo.... :) It works! This is extremely close to final prototype now. Encode is running entirely on the fanless PC, active VNC connection for the audiolink tablet, and receivers working fully properly all in tandem 6419
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Inner channel isnt the right size for the tablet, so im printing a new one (12 more hours oof) but this is still cool as a set piece as is 0294
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Okay well its not great, print had some failures at some spots (mind the gaping hole in the diffuser lmao) BUT proof of concept works. Still need to find better ways of mounting the LED stick though, this only works because there is the accidental hole. Trying to get stuff done for MAW AAAAAAAAAAAAA 0111
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Test version is coming along nicely lol. 4 hours left 140
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 16/09/2026More work on the Audiolink project. This is a mockup for an audiolink wand, currently struggling ALOT to figure out how the heck to get the esp32 to fit in a handheld device like this without it being absurd. LED diffusing needs some work too, but overall happy with the result 091
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Reminder to turn off motion smoothing in SteamVR, it generally doesn't help with any motion sickness, will make your environment smeary, and will be halving your framerate in many occasions due to how the technology works. Really wish they would change this setting to default off not on 2348
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Man i do sure love running out of heap memory 0120
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 09/09/202640FPS now when using a ESP32-S3 in native USB mode to do the transmitting. Had to do some cursed stuff, serial wasnt good enough due to bottlenecks so now the esp is a windows USB device that is being sent to. I can now send all 4 packets and get a decent framerate, which is good enough for now 2231
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 07/09/2026Major progress today, full shader system implementated, along with fallback detection for when audiolink packets arent found. Shaders are currently written in C, may stay that way idk. Shaders are written in the context of UV positions and all the mapping is handled by the renderer itself 1203
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Update on the Audiolink project, heres some more testing now with multiple receiver devices. Each RGB strip and the matrix panel are individual ESP32 receivers. Ive got the strips and stick setup to show each AL band, and then the matrix is showing the DFT 4393

Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 17/08/2026Typing this and not being able to tell that maybe perhaps ***you*** are the issue and not everyone else after years of evidence is so fucking funny to me lmao 2120
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 14/08/2026Made a quick block diagram to better represent it, theres alot of steps lol I should take the time to visually refine this diagram 130
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 14/08/2026Just tested the IRL audiolink project in open air, easily .126 miles distance across a open field still able to reliably produce visuals. Pretty cool! And this is without some additional tuning i want to do. Distance is roughly to where that far blue light on the left is 1160
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 09/08/2026Since everyones posting their steam account's age. Septemver 18th, 2011. Not my oldest account however, that goes to my Roblox account, which to my knowledge was my first account and was where my name originated, being made February 21, 2011 020
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 05/08/2026Did another VRSL fixture! this time the fixed 5ch LED Bar 2274
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 04/08/2026Added alpha channel debug to my audiolink debug set since its not well visualized and there is actually unique data in here 090
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 04/08/2026I heard you like lights, so I gave you more light with your light. Here is a VRSL wash light with a individual lutbeam object per individual lense, giving you light interference visuals and alot more complex light behaviour than if there was just one lutbeam 3355
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 02/08/2026Took a bunch of glamor architectural shots at TNS, heres a bunch of them. Overall love how all the tech in here looks and I have so many more ideas to still add 1184
Happyrobot33 @happyrobot33.bsky.social · 29/07/2026IT FUCKING WORKS This prototype is about 8 ish hours of work, dealing with multiple pitfalls in different places all adding latency or other encoding issues lol. BUT IT WORKS. time to implement the rest of audiolink and porting pema's HLSL interpreter 1220
