Today marks 26 years since mifepristone was approved by the FDA. This safe and effective medication has made it possible for millions of people in the US to get abortion care on their own terms, including through telehealth. We must #ProtectAbortionMeds and ensure access for all!

Telehealth abortion is critical for people in restrictive states across the US, but many people are not aware of this option. New Guttmacher data shows that only 1/3 of patients surveyed at six brick-and-mortar clinics knew they could receive abortion pills by mail. Read more: gu.tt/3RNoLnd

It's been 4 years since the #Dobbs decision & abortion is still severely restricted across the US—with 13 states currently banning care entirely. Advocates & policymakers must champion a bold vision of access that goes beyond Roe, rooted in evidence & human rights to guarantee access for all.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General has appealed a state court ruling that allowed state Medicaid funds to cover abortion. As litigation continues, PA Medicaid recipients will continue to not be able to use their insurance to pay for abortion care. Our map is up to date: gu.tt/4985P4S

Many of the clinics we surveyed are working to meet the needs of trans patients by offering services such as gender-affirming hormone therapy and adopting inclusive clinical practices that respect patients’ gender identity.
