If trans inclusion in sports were the threat increasingly loud opponents are claiming, three decades of it in Minnesota would have proven the point. Instead it’s proven the opposite, as Executive Director Megan Peterson explains in an op-ed published in Common Dreams:
commondreams.org
Minnesota Proves Trans Inclusion Works; the Government Needs You to Believe It Doesn't | Common Dreams
When we allow our government to dismantle the fundamental rights of transgender people, we validate a legal precedent that threatens the liberties of every single citizen tomorrow.

BREAKING Today, our case challenging North Dakota’s cruel ban on gender-affirming care was heard at the North Dakota Supreme Court. Swipe through to learn more and visit bit.ly/NDStandWithTransYouth to take action and stand with North Dakotan trans youth!
On a dark teal background with a doctor’s stethoscope pictured, text with purple highlights reads: “Young people shouldn’t be denied access to best-practice, life-saving health care. Politicians shouldn’t have more power over private medical decisions than qualified doctors and
loving families. These truths are at the
heart of our case challenging North Dakota’s ban on gender-affirming care for trans youth — and today our case was heard by the North Dakota Supreme Court. On a dark teal background with marble patterning, Jess Braverman Gender Justice Legal Director is quoted: “North Dakota's founders wrote a Constitution that protects personal freedom and self-determination. That promise has to mean something, especially when it comes to defending North Dakota families from government overreach. Politicians are not qualified to override medical decisions made by families in consultation with trusted, licensed, medical professionals. This case is a critical step in making good on North Dakota's founding promise of freedom for all.”On a dark teal background with a faded list of the medical associations who have signed onto an amicus brief in support of this case, text reads: “Doctors Know Better Than Politicians: 19 of the nation's most respected medical and scientific organizations, including the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics, filed an “amicus brief” in support of our case, testifying to the importance of gender-affirming care access. North Dakotans Know Better Than Politicians: 93% of North Dakota adults agree the government has no business in the private lives of transgender and nonbinary people.**2024 statewide survey, Perry Undem and Gender Justice”On a dark teal background with a judge’s gavel pictured, text with purple highlights reads: Let’s make sure our support reaches trans youth across our state! Sign our open letter pledging to stand with trans youth, protect trans rights, and fight for gender-affirming care access: bit.ly/NDStandWithTransYouth & stay tuned for future case updates and action items — together, we will keep fighting for North Dakota’s laws to live up to North Dakota’s Constitution, values, and the dignity our communities deserve.

The Court’s decision blocks states from setting and enforcing basic standards for ethical mental health care. & it puts children back in harms way. Here’s what this decision means for folks in Minnesota and North Dakota:”On a teal slide text reads: “This ruling will undermine some protections in Minnesota, where lawmakers banned conversion therapy in 2023 to keep young people safe.

Specifically, it will permit conversion talk therapy in Minnesota.

It will also impact professional safeguards in North Dakota, where licensed social workers are prohibited from engaging in this harmful practice.”On a teal slide, Gender Justice Legal Director Jess Braverman is quoted saying: “Today's decision puts children back in harm's way. States like Minnesota and North Dakota banned conversion therapy because we know what it does to kids...That's why we drew a clear line and said this has no place in real mental health care. The Court has erased that line. BREAKING We’re going to the Minnesota Supreme Court to ask a critical question: Will Minnesota let religious claims be used as a license to discriminate, or will it uphold our state’s civil rights protections? Click through the slides to learn more!
On a teal background, text reads:
Employers shouldn’t be able to discriminate against employees in non-religious roles using religious claims.

A custodian shouldn’t lose their job because they got an abortion. A nurse shouldn’t fear for their livelihood because they’re openly LGBTQ+. A coach shouldn’t worry about job security because they married someone of a different faith.

But that’s exactly what happened to our client, a cherished school librarian who was effectively fired from the job she loved after coming out as trans.

[Bold/emphasized] So we’re taking this fight for fairness to the Minnesota Supreme Court. On a dark teal background, Gender Justice Legal Director Jess Braverman is quoted: "This case is about whether Minnesota's civil rights laws can be rendered meaningless for thousands of workers simply because their employer claims a religious objection…It sets a dangerous precedent that undermines the rights of LGBTQ+ people, people of minority faiths, and anyone who doesn't conform to an employer's religious views."On a dark teal background, Joni Thome, Wanta Thome PLC Attorney is quoted: ""No employer should be able to discriminate against employees in non-religious roles using religion as a basis for the discrimination…Minnesota's highest court has the opportunity to ensure that all Minnesotans, regardless of religion, gender identity, or background, can live and work with dignity."
