A homecoming game in Eden Prairie, Minnesota had to be evacuated last night after gunfire erupted outside of the stadium, injuring at least two people. Our hearts are with the community, who should have never had to experience this trauma.

BREAKING: Trump's Department of Justice will not appeal a Texas ruling that guts one of our nation's foundational gun safety laws. Months ago, Attorney General Todd Blanche said under oath that he would defend this near 100-year-old law. This will only lead to more preventable gun violence.

Trump dismissed domestic violence and called it a “lesser” crime in the past. If that were the case, over 70 women wouldn't be dying every month at the hands of an abuser. But they are. Instead of emboldening abusers and undermining survivors, we need to invest in real solutions that keep us safe.

Eleven years ago today, a student with an assault weapon shot into a classroom at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon. Nine people were shot and killed, and nine more were wounded. It is the deadliest mass shooting in Oregon’s modern history.
