Buying a home was already too expensive, and now we’re seeing the highest mortgage rates in nearly 3 years. Higher gas prices. Higher grocery bills. Higher mortgage payments. Americans just can't afford the cost of Trump's war.

I refuse to let Donald Trump trample the rights of children seeking safety in our country. The Trump Administration must abandon its heinous plan and restore access to independent lawyers for immigrant kids facing deportation.

Trump's arch is not about national security. It’s about his own personal insecurities.
A Panel graphic of Senator Duckworth speaking at a press conference in Washington, D.C. There are three images of Senator Duckworth speaking with text that reflects what she is saying over each picture. First, "This arch is about Trump's personal insecurities." Second, "I don't know what he's insecure about." Third, "He must have a lot of insecurities because he certainly is trying to make up for it everywhere he can."

NEWS: Today, I led a group of 20 bipartisan lawmakers calling on the FAA to guarantee that emergency medical kits require epinephrine on every flight. Because if you have an allergic reaction 35,000 feet in the air, you should trust there's the medication you need on board.

Arlington Cemetery is hallowed ground. A final resting place for our fallen heroes who were brave enough to serve. How dare this five-time draft dodger dishonor them by trying to erect a monument to his own vanity? Veterans will not let him get away with it.

NEWS: I’m calling on FAA Administrator Bedford and Defense Secretary Hegseth to immediately reject Donald Trump’s plan to turn his golden vanity arch into a military complex. This plan is as dangerous as it is ridiculous. Full stop.

Trump should be honoring the families of our servicemembers, not rounding them up for deportation. Enough is enough.

Trump already enacted the largest Medicaid cut in history. Now hospitals warn his latest proposed rules could cut hundreds of billions more.   Whether you rely on Medicaid or not, a closed hospital can’t care for anyone.

25 years ago, nearly 3,000 innocent lives were taken in terrorist attacks that forever changed our nation. We remember the first responders who ran toward danger to save lives. We mourn with the families who will forever carry the weight of that tragic day. We will never forget.

Saddened to hear about the passing of Gloria Steinem. Gloria’s activism was unique. It focused on people, empathy and unlearning. She used the power of coalitions and togetherness to work towards equality, while elevating the voices of the marginalized. Her legacy will live on.
Gloria Steinem is sat on the ground with her legs crossed. There is a white background, nobody around her. She holds a sign that reads, "We Shall Overcome" and stares at the camera with a determined look and straight face.

Two years after Trump promised to deliver “free IVF” if he was elected, he has yet to deliver.   I have a bill that could get it done immediately. Let’s pass my Right to IVF Act.

71 years ago, 14-year-old Emmett Till was lynched by white supremacists.   His mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, held an open-casket wake so the world could see what hatred had done to her son.   We will never let their history be erased or forgotten.

What our troops endured aboard the USS Lincoln is unforgivable. Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth must answer for this egregious lack of planning.

Our servicemembers cannot keep paying the price for their failures.

Troops aboard the USS Lincoln have been at sea for nearly nine months. Their families are describing severe exhaustion, rotten food, broken toilets—and the Pentagon is denouncing their cries as “fake news.”   Secretary Hegseth, how could you let this happen?

When will Trump stop embracing dictators and alienating our allies?
When I visited South Korea last year, we reaffirmed the importance of joint exercises to keep our troops ready and our allies secure.
Gutting them to appease nuclear-armed Kim Jong Un is a grave mistake.

Sailors and Marines are facing a mental health crisis after months at sea with no end in sight to Trump’s illegal war. Meanwhile, Hegseth is pushing dangerous, unauthorized flyovers as “morale boosters.” Want to boost morale? End this war.

While our brave servicemembers are sacrificing to keep us safe, Donald Trump is deporting their families. More than 50 parents and spouses of active duty troops have been detained by Trump's ICE and Border Patrol. We're leading an investigation. This betrayal has to stop.

Rodney, a double amputee, was forced to drag himself across the bathroom floor in ICE detention just to take a shower. Reasonable accommodations are a human right. Trump shouldn't get to choose where to draw that line.

This housing bill passed with strong bipartisan support in both the House and Senate. It had buy-in from the White House.
Real relief for families was just within reach.

Trump is blocking it because he'd rather make it harder for you to vote than help you afford housing.
