Alabamians don’t live in a pretend world. We are living in the Trump/Tuberville reality of a rush to build data centers, high gas prices, high grocery prices and high electricity prices. Alabamians deserve better.

Act, which made $255 million in annual funding permanent for these schools and other minority-serving institutions. As governor, I'll bring that same commitment to Alabama's HBCUs and all Alabama colleges and universities.

Trump’s not coming to Mobile for Tommy. That’s just an afterthought. Pretty clear that he’s in Mobile to campaign for another personal vanity project to have the new Mobile Bay Bridge that Tuberville voted against, named after him. At least Trump didn’t divert bridge funds for self promo TV ads.

What a thrill it was to be back with my old friend @jasonisbell @jasonisbell at our big rally in Mobile last week. Jason never lets an audience, or me, down with this music and his words. Thank you for always being there for us!

It was at times moving, at times poignant, at times funny, but at all times worthy of the inspiration and admiration for Atticus Finch and “To Kill a Mockingbird.”

What an honor it was to introduce the world premier of “Growing Up with Atticus” to kick off the centennial season of The Virginia Samford Theater, and to be able to visit with the amazing stars Cecilia Peck, daughter of the great Gregory Peck, and Birmingham’s own Mary Badham, aka “Scout.”

$6 diesel is crushing Alabama farmers, truckers and shrimpers. And when it costs more for them to do their jobs, we all pay more. Tommy Tuberville? He takes a knee.

What a great day in Tuscumbia on Labor Day. Food, fun, a parade and a Bama jersey autographed by Joe Namath! Organized labor has worked so hard and for so long for the workers in Alabama, it’s time that Alabama’s government did some work for them not always against them.

Change is happening in Shelby County. During the primary, Democratic turnout increased by 260%. Louise and I enjoyed spending yesterday afternoon with the Shelby County Democrats and so many of our strong Democratic candidates.

We could use more of that spirit of unity and shared purpose today, much like what we saw today in Birmingham at 9/11 Day’s UNIITE for Good where volunteers packed more than 100,000 meals for Alabamians facing hunger.

That has to change. Whether it’s keeping a hospital open, giving our kids a great education, or bringing good-paying jobs, the people of the Black Belt deserve a state government that shows up and invests in their future.
