September 2026 finishes with 11 days having a moose sighting after encountering this cow and her calves this morning. Pretty remarkable considering I was out of state on 13 of the days this month.

A bull moose is running around parking lots and industrial areas surrounding Juneau’s Mendenhall River. While moose sightings are frequent in Anchorage, that’s not the case in Juneau. Photos and videos have been swirling on social media.

The new CPC El Nino Advisory update was released today. There is now a 98% change of a Very Strong El Nino by Oct-Dec and a 75% chance of exceeding the strongest on record. But more importantly, there is now some blue at the tail end of the probability chart. 🥳
