We just sat down with @scoopofsherbet.bsky.social for an interview about her wild week after being referenced in ~that~ Emmy's skit! Look for the write up coming soon to CassandraRecords.org to hear from our wonderfully thoughtful, intelligent, hilarious, and profound friend, Shelby 🍨🫶

Using a surgical knife (no joke), Izzinnia cut the drop shadows from the white paper and placed colored paper beneath to create this rainbow header for the website!!! 🌈 The result is both 2D lines & 3D letters, highlighting how two things can be true at once depending on your perspective 👯‍♀️

A white piece of paper being held outside in the sun. The word 'parallax' is written in the same illusion as the posts in this thread, but with a rainbow of shadow colors.

Using the cut paper alphabet font Izzinnia created as templates, Izzinnia traced where the drop shadows would go.

A piece of white paper on a craft mat. The letter P, A, R, L, and X are stencils cut out of pink paper. The word 'parallax' is written in the same style as the post before in this thread, just the shadows outlined to give an illusion of the word come up out of the paper.

To highlight our focus on the PARALLAX, Waverlee made a mockup & suggested we use a calligraphy technique she learned from her great-grandmother, a multi-disciplinary artist born in 1926. 🎨 🖼️🪡🧵🖋️

The TL;DR: In our free zine, we would love to publish your personal essays, poems, or visual art that answers one question: "What does it mean to be a Gaylor?" Since that's a big question, we wrote more specific prompts to get your creativity flowing 🎨🖋️

- Ideas to Get Started
Here are some questions to get you thinking:
• How did you find Gaylorism?
• What were the first songs that made you question if Taylor Swift is telling a gay story?
• When has the media or fan narrative around Taylor Swift not made sense to you?
• How has your relationship with fan culture evolved over time?
• How has your own identity changed and grown as a Gaylor?

One of our core values at Cassandra Records is FUCK AI. Everything here is human-designed and human-executed. We spent weeks perfecting this piece of art for our logo. Everything we do here will include this level of intention. Read about the values that guide us at CassandraRecords.org 🪩

Why a Gaylor Zine, you ask? Much like our Fearless Leader, we're celebrating the tradition of zines as Queer culture. Especially inspired by the 1st nationally-distributed lesbian publication in the U.S., The Ladder by the Daughters of Bilitis, we want YOUR stories and art for this inaugural issue❤️‍🔥
