Nan wasn't so keen on the half open daffodils. So I put some open daffodils in a crystal vase on the kitchen counter. Light was streaming in through the horizontal blind and I took a photo to paint from. "Daffodils in a Crystal Vase" - oil on 8x10 canvas panel. Framed and on the wall.

"Canoe Lake: Moonlight" - Oil on 8x10" stretched canvas and oil on 8x10 canvas panel - May 9 and May 18, 2025. After Tom Thomson's "Moonlight Over Canoe Lake." The first version felt too stiff. I painted the second version more loosely, with more texture in the paint.

New painting, "Sunset Pines" - oil on stretched canvas 14x11" after Tom Thomson's "Pine Trees at Sunset." Some friends said it was their favourite Thomson, so I painted my version for them.
