Today marks 15 years since Steve Jobs passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Every year, memories come flooding back, and this one is no different. We have new all-time low pricing on M6 Mac mini releases at up to nearly $150 off, and a near-$200 price drop on the 2026 Mac Studio.  Those deals also join solid $200 price drops across just about all M5 MacBook Air models, an ongoing M5 Pro MacBook Pro offer at $500 off, the first deal on Apple’s new minimalist all-glyph Magic Keyboard, and rare Magic Mouse price drops too.  more…

One of the most famous and successful partnerships in the history of technology has been that of Steve Jobs and Jony Ive. Apple re-invented the idea of smartphone navigation with the outer display on iPhone Duo, and now it feels quite wrong that every smartphone puts things at the top. more…

AirPods are one of Apple’s most interesting products. The demand for them was largely invented by the fact that the company removed the headphone jack 10 years ago, and now most of us carry this almost magical pair of earbuds that do so much more than just play audio. AirPods offer best-in-class noise cancellation, and also serve as a hearing aid. They get better and better almost every year. Despite everything that AirPods do so well, I have one annoyance with them, and it’s particularly annoying because it could be such an easy software fix. more…

Since Jony Ive’s departure from Apple in 2019, the company hasn’t had much of a true design lead. For a while, former COO Jeff Williams was in charge of design, until his departure last year.
