After so many hot days, autumn suddenly arrived. My family hasn't been feeling well with the change of seasons, so I've been doing my best to take care of everyone. I hope they all feel better soon.

My daughter will be two soon. She's growing so fast and learning new things every day, and each new thing she can do makes me so happy. I imagine every day is full of little discoveries for her. I'm honestly a little jealous.

I turned 49 today. When I turned 40, I was anxious. Work wasn't going well, I was getting older, and I thought life would only go downhill from there. But my 40s brought me new friends, new opportunities, and so much growth. I'm grateful to everyone who's been part of it.

Summers in Japan have been getting hotter and hotter in recent years, but this year has been surprisingly mild. This is what summers felt like when I was a kid. I really hope it stays like this in the years to come.

Our place now mainly operates as a rental space, so the café isn't open on a regular basis anymore. However, I work on game development there almost every day. If the timing works out, I might even be able to make you a cup of coffee! So if you're ever visiting Kyoto, feel free to get in touch.

Today, Giacomo ( @giacomo.7thbe.at ) from Rhythm Doctor ( @rd.7thbe.at ) visited my café! Last year, Hafiz ( @fizzd.bsky.social ) came by too. I never imagined I'd get to meet both of them. My English isn't great, but we talked, laughed, and had a wonderful time together!

By the way, development on #AvemaryRocket is going really well! We now have a minimap, along with lots of other new features. And... I've also squashed plenty of embarrassing bugs along the way😂

It's been almost three years since the release of Raindrop Sprinters, and I'm deeply moved that so many people are still recommending it and writing new reviews. I can't express how much your words encourage me. Thank you so much! store.steampowered.com/app/2566020/...

I’m honestly surprised by how many people have suddenly started sharing my game! It’s the middle of the night in the US, and early morning in Europe, isn’t it? I’m incredibly happy… but why?!

I never expected this post to get so much attention! As it happens, my game #RaindropSprinters is currently 50% off in the Steam Summer Sale. If you haven't played it yet, I'd be delighted if you gave it a try! store.steampowered.com/app/2566020/...

Oh, that's wonderful! I'm happy to hear there are people preserving things like that. As for my game, sorry! You only get a glimpse of the cat during a Non-Stop Goal, so you'll have to be patient until then! 😄

Oh, and at #BitSummit, Sako ( @sako.works ) drew Ame and Raindrop Sprinters for me! Another treasure has been added to my collection!

Honestly, I had been nervous this whole time. I’m making something much bigger than Raindrop Sprinters, and it has been full of first-time challenges for me. I kept pushing myself as hard as I could, hoping to deliver something truly good. Now, finally, I feel just a little bit relieved.

Our #BitSummitPUNCH exhibit ended on a huge high! Amazingly, players kept coming nonstop throughout all three days, and quite a few of them got seriously hooked! I thought the fastest time would be in the high 2-minute range, but then the leaderboard turned into absolute chaos...😂 #AvemaryRocket

Balancing game development and raising a child makes it really hard to find enough time. I often stay up too late after my daughter falls asleep, but I was honestly starting to burn out, so today I made sure to get a full eight hours of sleep.

1181

Shuhei Miyazawa / room_909 @909works.net · 28/04/2026

The event showcase was a big success, and I finally feel relieved. It’s over ten times larger than my previous game, with so many first-time challenges, and I was anxious every day. But I couldn’t let down the teammates who believed in me. Development is still ongoing, but I’ll keep going.

Thanks to all of you, the #AvemaryRocket demo was a big success! I worked on it until the last minute and was nervous, but it was popular enough to draw a line. Balancing development with childcare was tough, but it paid off. I’m truly relieved and will keep working hard! #gamedev

When I showed my 1.5-year-old daughter a screen from the game I’m working on, she surprised me by smiling, raising her hands, and starting to clap. Come to think of it, it was the first game screen she had ever seen. I was deeply moved. #AvemaryRocket #GameDev

Today marks the end of 26 years of running our café. My mother, who has been the owner, turns 80 this year, and I am now 49 while busy raising my daughter. We felt it was physically reaching our limits, so we decided to close the café. I truly believe our whole family did an incredible job.

Shuhei Miyazawa / room_909 @909works.net · 26/03/2026

Actually, at the end of this month, we will be closing the café side of my shop. My mother is getting older, and I’ve also been fully occupied with childcare and game development. That said, we’re not shutting it down completely, and we plan to open it for special events.

In Japan, we celebrate a festival called "Hinamatsuri" in March, wishing for the healthy growth and happiness of girls. People decorate with dolls of an emperor and empress to celebrate. At the moment, my café is displaying over 250 unique sets of these dolls.

My wife( @ayamediary.bsky.social ) went to Tokyo for an art exhibition over the past couple of days. She’s a Japanese painter. While I was taking care of our daughter on my own, I really felt how much she has grown, and how amazing my wife is.
