It goes without saying that he was one of the most important figures in the history of baseball, let alone this country. Here’s my painting of him in the Ebbets Field dugout in late July of 1948. 310530 0

Veale was a member of our 1971 World Series team and is second all-time in Pirates history in strikeouts. Our thoughts are with the Veale family during this difficult time. 610519 0

1970s Baseball @70sbaseball.bsky.social · 05/01/2025Ouch, that sounds like a painful memory, but I can say that you're not alone when it comes to doing things like that with cards when you were a kid. 110 0

1970s Baseball @70sbaseball.bsky.social · 23/12/2024Like many, I was sad to hear of Rickey Henderson's passing. Rickey made his MLB debut in the '70s, on June 24, 1979. He was 2 for 4 with a double and a stolen base and went on to become the greatest leadoff hitter and base stealer in MLB history, as well as one of its best players, period. R.I.P. 110 0

1970s Baseball @70sbaseball.bsky.social · 12/12/2024Hello, bluesky! I've had an account at the other place called 1974Baseball, but I'm moving over here with a new handle that better reflects my interests. If you love everything that made 1970s baseball great, including Willie Stargell's van with a pirate ship on the side, please give me a follow! 110 0
