Daisuke: I'm filled with instant and immense dread. It'll probably work　, but at what cost to my sanity? 😭 Obito: Slightly better. This is way less likely to go sideways at any given point, but there's also a pretty big chance I'm about to become live bait of some kind 😩 #AwesomeCharacters

I'm running 3rd omni 🪦 Daisuke, Obito, and Lady Shadow are the "main" 3 POVs, but sometimes Master Yujin needs one, too, as well as Junpei, Emperor Akuwara, or the dragon demons (though those are generally shorter sections). Deciding who goes when is all vibes based 😭✌🏻 #AwesomeCharacters

If this person is *respectful* when they meet Daisuke, they'll walk away thinking he's nice enough, maybe even charismatic. Obito is very much an introvert, so strangers tend to think he's pretty cold, stiff, and clipped when he talks. Maybe even a little mean 😅 #AwesomeCharacters

#WIPSnips #WriteSky #writingprompt From the vault of "What Alyssa writes to fight long-term burnout" 😅😅 (Stretching the prompt a bit with "address me" as a synonym-ish for "call" 😅)

Daisuke took a break from shaking the water off his boots to glare at him, which did little to stop the laughing. “What’s so damn funny?”

“You look like a cat.” Obito set the lantern down on a nearby outcropping that was barely stable enough to hold it so he could squint at the pinhole of white light beckoning them toward the passage’s exit.

Wet, shivering, and in a considerably worse mood, Daisuke didn’t feel like letting it go with a simple roll of his eyes. “That so? Then, from now on, you will only address me as ‘His Feline Lordship.’”

Without missing a beat, Obito turned to him once more, face impassive despite the subtle glint in his eyes. “Here, kitty, kitty.”

Alyssa Lauseng 🖕🏻🧊 @5feetofredfury.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

🤔 Daisuke's dad, Obito's dad, Ewah, Akuwara, Giichi, the guy Daisuke slept with in book 2, Early Junpei, Mika, Senator Hajime, Lady Chizuru... I'd call these guys foils more than straight up antagonists, though, at least most of them. Lady Shadow tends to get a lot of sympathy 😅 #AwesomeCharacters

#WIPSnips #WriteSky #writingprompt Duels of Blood (not Daisuke dragging a junior into his antics 😮‍💨)

“So, other than a free meal from Shiba’s, what do Yuki and I get out of this?”

“So you do know this is a negotiation. Good boy.” Daisuke beamed, though it was short-lived; he had to think for a moment. He didn’t have much to offer in return. “Let’s see…extra padding in this month’s stipend, poisons help whenever you need it, and at least one better assignment before the summer’s out.”

Masaki’s eyes widened. “Seriously? You mean it?”

“You sound surprised.”

“I didn’t think I’d get that far.”

“I know the feeling.” Daisuke cleared his throat. “But, if this goes ass-up, I want my money back.”

Daisuke's knee-jerk reaction is a "What the f***?!" and to get ready to verbally fight somebody, but if it turns out to be an honest mistake, he'll huff and help them out and maybe (big maybe) apologize for his initial reaction. Obito's irritated and has rolled his eyes at 1/2 #AwesomeCharacters

#WIPSnips #WriteSky #writingprompt Duels of Blood (I was gonna post this one yesterday but I typed it up for the wrong word 💀)

The spell—Obito really didn’t like using that word—for the array made a much more complex symbol than the one he and Daisuke were already using to seal wandering spirits, but if his overall understanding of the subject had improved, it’d be far more effective. they’d be better off adapting.

Either way, he needed more certainty before they moved forward. These ancient markings held more power and danger than he cared to admit; pitting the wrong one against a Demon of the Between Realm would easily become a fatal mistake.

Daisuke and Obito don't argue too often, but when they do, it's usually over something like the method of executing a plan—Daisuke likes to take risks, Obito only allows *calculated* risks. Daisuke also has 0 sense of mortality, whereas Obito is painfully aware of it 🤣 1/2 #AwesomeCharacters

#WIPSnips #WriteSky #writingprompt Talismans of Sin (it's been a long night and the boys are both pretty banged up)

“Fine,” Daisuke groaned as he pushed himself off the wall. “But you’re carrying me back.”

Knowing full well his partner couldn’t support his weight, he’d meant it as an artless joke, and a way of trying to brush off the fact they’d nearly died just now, but he stumbled when he stepped forward and fell against Obito’s shoulder. Startled, neither of them moved; somewhere between a flurry of emotion and the fog of exhaustion, Daisuke caught himself thinking this was a nice place to rest. He decided he’d stay there until Obito couldn’t stand it anymore, and closed his eyes again to let the first signs of morning light staining the sky ease his mind. It wasn’t until now that he’d realized the storm had subsided, and yet another layer of relief laced its way into a slow sigh.

Alyssa Lauseng 🖕🏻🧊 @5feetofredfury.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

Daisuke and Obito were always end game (they're very much together in a related series I previously wrote), but how they got there surprised me. Originally, they met a lot later at age 18-ish instead of 11/12 and were NOT friends at all. Rivals to situationship to friends to lovers. 1/2 #SumLuv

#WIPSnips #WriteSky #writingprompt Duels of Blood (cw for underage consumption of alcohol and lean as a synonym)

Daisuke passed the flask to Obito, swaying a little. His eyes landed on the High Priestess as she stepped up to the communal altar. She looked different; gaunt, exhausted, and almost frail as she ascended the three short steps. The right gust of wintry wind could've knocked her over.

He nearly commented on it, but when he felt the cool metal of the flask in his palm again, he forgot to worry. There was a much prettier and far more interesting sight beside him, and by now, both were quite tipsy. He decided to lean into the opportunity—quite literally—by putting his head on Obito’s shoulder.

I'd say ObiDai's baggage makes a matched set, especially since they meet after they're removed from their stressful/traumatic situations by the time they meet. It also helps that they're basically the same age (Daisuke’s 6 months younger 🤭). As they get older and, uh, certain urges 1/3 #SumLuv

#WIPSnips #WriteSky #writingprompt Duels of Blood (darkness instead, and a lesson in not being able to save everyone)

The helplessness in Daisuke’s eyes squeezed at Obito’s heart, but he still nodded firmly, enfolding his partner in his arms only seconds after. Even though the truth of the matter was enough to break them, they had to stay strong in the face of it; this was in the Intelligence Master’s hands, now. A few moments and several shaking breaths later, Daisuke’s trembling body pulled slightly away from Obito’s chest, but he didn’t move much beyond that point. Instead, his gaze went out to the city, where faint sounds of the Capital’s nightlife reached their ears, golden lantern lights dotting the darkness.
