Alright, I’m pretty happy with the paint job after lightening up the brown a little. Applied some dry transfers from the MG geara doga, and it’s really coming together! Next up is a clear coat and some weathering, and then a little bit of touch ups on the details will call it done!

The skateboy painting saga begins! I thought the brown i primed it in looked pretty good, so went with that plus a green because it's meant for swamp environments. I'm still not quite happy with it yet, but it's good to show the process even if the results of it aren't perfect.

After a bit of gluing and a lot of filling and sanding, the boy is ready for paint! I’m leaving the gun, engines and engine intakes unglued for now. The socket for the rear legs presses in tight enough that I’m not even going to glue it, for transport reasons. Very quick little build!

Speaking of that movie, here’s the whole scene with Skateboy. All of these designs are from Shoji Kawamori (Macross, Armored core), except the green spider drone, designed by Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira). Also, if there’s any issues with the build, it’s because they’re canonically cheaply made drones.

Also, there’s a couple little promotional materials in the box as well. There’s a flyer for a giveaway, where if you send in a sprue tag as proof of purchase along with your name and address, they’ll enter you to win one of 100 animation cels from Crusher Joe the movie, where the skateboy is from.

On opening the box, this kit is really small! Just two sprues with 30-something parts in total. The instruction manual likewise only has 6 steps, so unless there’s a bunch of cleanup to do it should be a quick build.

SKATEBOY‼️‼️‼️ I’m actually so hyped for this silly little guy, I’ve never built one of these 80’s anime kits before and i’m very curious how well it’s going to go together. Models like these have very little documentation on them, so I’ll also be posting that too!

My dearest friend @blueskies772.bsky.social surprised me with this gift for my birthday, of our two guys painting models and watching Gundam together ❤️ Art by the always wonderful @pibbbou.bsky.social Thank you both for this, I love it so so much

Reef and Lucas hanging out and painting Gunpla. Reef has a brush in one hand and a partially disassembled Jegan in the other, while Lucas is airbrushing a Ball type K, getting orange paint all over his hand in the process. A rick dias sits on the shelf behind reef, while a television in between the two is playing an episode of Gundam 0079.

It is the year 0079 of the universal century. A half century has passed since earth began moving its burgeoning population into gigantic orbiting space colonies. A new home for mankind, where people are born and raised, and die.
Nine months ago, the cluster of colonies furthest from the earth, known as side 3, proclaimed itself the principality of zeon and launched a war of independence against the earth federation. Initial fighting lasted one month and saw both sides lose half their respective populations. People were horrified at the indescribable atrocities committed in the name of independence.
8 months had passed since the rebellion began. They were at a stalemate.

My major inspiration here is @lead-castle.bsky.social's incredible comic project Wyvern! Reading the comic and seeing all of the process behind it is the thing that finally got me to pick up a pencil and start pursuing this goal of mine. Best $3/month i've ever spent. www.patreon.com/Lead__castle

Cover art for WYVERN, by Adrian Schweinsberg

Wyvern protagonist Sonny Strekalov, here depicted with the bio-mechanical implants he's given after a training accident while piloting the titular Wyvern.

The Wyvern, in all its creatureness. A quadrupedal mech distinctly more biological looking than the rest of the machines depicted in the prologue. The folded wings on the forelimbs here seem reminiscent of the shoulder pylons of an EVA unit, while a pair of thruster arms on the shoulder remind me of my GOAT the RGM-89 Jegan.

Page 8 of the prologue chapter of Wyvern. A pair of ISA pilots engage the antagonist in their mass production machines, outclassed by the pirate's customized machine and superior piloting skill.

So, with that said, I am going to start posting my own sketches to this account, in addition to the art i have commissioned. It's going to be a little rough for the time being, but it's good to document my progress as I improve! For reference, here's the kind of sketches I'm doing right now.

A rough pencil sketch of a Z'gok from Gundam (1979). a note in red pencil dates it as augusst 13-14th, 2025.

A rough pencil sketch of a claw from the strike dog in armored trooper votoms (1983). it is sketched in red col-erase and lined with a 0.5mm mechanical pencil. A note dates this sketch as August 17, 2025.

An unfinished digital sketch of a claw mech arm, repurposed from industrial salvage and weaponized in order to repair a damaged machine. Exposed hydraulic pistons sit behind the three prongs of the claw, while hydraulic lines snake behind the piston and connect to an accumulator attached to the upper arm.

Here's probably my favorite piece I've commissioned yet, a digital painting from @pibbbou.bsky.social of Reef in an 80's mecha pilot style of outfit. I'm so pleased with the way this came out, Pib is such a great artist to work with and he absolutely nailed every part of this piece.

Reef the shark sitting atop an exposed lookout tower in the desert at night. A dim orange lamp shines down on him, illuminating his outfit and equipment. He is wearing a dirty white and blue jumpsuit with orange accents, and is carrying a backpack radio transmitter while holding a handheld microphone/speaker. He stares out into the distance with a tired expression, hating the job he's been given as lookout. A set of futuristic buildings stretches up in the distance, contrasting the isolation felt by Reef as he is tied to this outpost all by himself.

Here’s the second abiotic factor sketch we got from @pibbbou.bsky.social! This time, Lucas caught an entirely different kind of fish than what he was expecting ;3 Lucas belongs to my deer friend @blueskies772.bsky.social, who was an absolute joy to play abiotic factor with.

Lucas fishing in the night realm, surprised as Reef surfaces from the pool nude & with the bob in his mouth. Reef makes an evil looking face as he’s entirely too pleased with himself for messing with Lucas, who has been fishing for the entire time that Reef has been running for his life through the halls of the security sector. These two are definitely going to fuck later.
Lucas is wearing a tattered lab coat revealing the purple undershirt beneath, as well as a teal fanny pack and a fishing hat.

This one was posted before, but I’m still so pleased with this sketch from @pibbbou.bsky.social of Reef and @blueskies772.bsky.social’s lucas. Just a pair of researchers at GATE, starting a “normal” day i’m sure.

Two characters leaning against the counter in the breakroom. Lucas the deer on left, pouring a can of neon green KIZZ cola into his GATE coffee mug. He’s looking to his right at Reef, who is intensely focused on his men’s health magazine (no doubt ogling the attractive men within, while ignoring the attractive man right beside him). Both are dressed in scientist uniforms, with lucas having a purple pocket square poking out of his breast pocket while Reef has a red pocket square. Reef is wearing a pair of maroon pants with a snakeskin belt while Lucas is wearing grey-blue pants with a standard black belt.

I’m currently painting the plamax strike dog, it’s a real good kit! About master grade size, has some pretty good details but not enough to make you pull your hair out. The build is also quite good, it’s only ever so slightly less nice than a bandai kit. If only i had money for the rabidly dog too.

Painted cockpit. front handle is broken off and awaiting pinning. Recommend taking that one out whenever disassembling the cockpit

More cockpit shots. the outer armor is a darker blue basecoat, it’ll be more show accurate when i get it finished

Desperately trying to highlight the work i did on the control console.

I’ve been real bad about posting art i’ve gotten commissioned, but here’s the first piece I got with my good friend and all around great guy @blueskies772.bsky.social @pibbbou.bsky.social really did an excellent job designing the armor on Reef, i’m really happy with the way these two goobers look!

Reef the shark and Lucas the deer on a dungeon delve. Reef is wearing a set of plate armor and wielding a polearm. Lucas is wearing a gambeson coat with splint armor and channeling a spell through the mace he’s holding.

Got this really fun sketch from @pibbbou.bsky.social during the stream Tuesday! I’m so pleased with how this idea came out, Pib did such a fantastic job with the smoke coming out of his gills. Love that smug ass expression on him too. Thanks again for the sketch! That was a really fun stream :3

Yeah that can be really jarring. I still need to catch up on UC gundam post unicorn, but I know Votoms did something similar years earlier with pailsen files, and it looks super odd because the 3d animation wasn’t quite there yet.

They’re absolutely incredible to work with, highly recommend

Just got this beautiful piece from @pibbbou.bsky.social of my sona reef, bound and dripping wet.

Reef sits with his legs spread towards the viewer, his bioluminescent stripes illuminating the dark scene. A red leather chest harness connects to a strap around his leg, forcing his legs open and his soaking wet pussy into view. The pair of cuffs around his wrists keep his hands tied behind his back while he gives the camera an inviting look and a devilish smile. The glow of his scars reflects orange across the tip of his wet clitoris as his pussy drips in anticipation, begging for attention.
