Man, C and JavaScript really are alike. Both are shit, and both are irreplaceable because just happened to be in the right place in the right time.

If it works, you should be able to explain it in simple terms.

Understanding is the Progress. The World that just lives on its own, which you don't understand and do not influence is no different than primordial jungles. The Tech that hides, deceives, and generally reduces your understanding, drives you back to the stone age.

The more I develop programming languages the more I realize that there is not that much difference between interpreted and compiled languages. Compilation is just a form of interpretation. Lisp was thinking in the right direction. But nobody so far managed to close the gap.

Whenever I talk about what I think of as effective ways to work, somebody always pushes back with "But <some behemoth company> doesn't do that and they're successful!" Sure. When you have enough money, you can work in ineffective ways. So, I have a few questions for the skeptics: 1/5

None of this behavior is helpful, of course. Maybe it's time to stop running our software organizations as if we were a reality show. It's not working. 11/11

What's interesting about leetcode problems is that you DO want to hire somebody who's doing them just as a hobby. The problem is that nobody does them as a hobby anymore. The industry yet again killed a good metric by making it a goal.

ChatGPT is Versailles 2, all the rich guys are all pretending that this stuff is cool or makes them smarter and with each aberration of that lie they thus have to start saying and believing fundamentally insane things, all so that the central financial insanity can be further rationalised

I swear to god large parts of tech just fucking break constantly. I currently can't view any posts or comments on reddit, it's unclear why, logging out and back in again doesn't work. Sometimes when I type stuff into the chrome or firefox URL bar it doesn't even load. all these companies stink

Second indie game project and I'm still learning the same lesson: consistency isn't about being a machine. It's about being human and showing up anyway. Even when your code is messy and your motivation is MIA. #indiedev #gamedev

The attached comment (from LinkedIn, bit.ly/4jON4JE) makes many common assumptions about bootstrapping a startup, pretty much all of which are wrong. Let's start with "So, you will NOT FAIL if you ARE REALLY READY for market and competition." 1/9

Social security is a set of trust funds with a balance of about $2.7 trillion as of December 2024. We are the source of these funds. It belongs to us. These funds should be protected so we can protect each other. www.ssa.gov/oact/progdat...
Asset reserves grew from about $69 billion at the end of December 1987 to about $2,908 billion ($2.9 trillion) by the end of December 2020. Since the end of December 2020, asset reserves have declined slightly to about $2,721 billion ($2.7 trillion) by the end of December 2024.
