Roach's Gwent card is also a nod to these bugs, I think it's funnier to imagine that Roach is just kinda fucked up but Geralt puts up with it because he's a good horse
A picture of Geralt of Rivia scratching his head and looking up at his horse, Roach, who is standing on a thatched roof and also looking confused

I'm going to get a lot of use out of this website
The words "canon isn't real don't worry about it" in the style of the Sixth Doctor's title sequence. White text with rounded edges is overlaid on a background of stars and colours in a retros 80s kinda way

A few photos from my last visit to Manchester
The view from my hotel room, three brown buildings on the left which look stacked like stairs, a smaller white building and a large, abandoned grey building on the right. Set against a blue sky. With a few other rooftops and tree tops visible to the bottom left of the photo A dark, narrow alleyway which opens up and frames the Kimpton Clocktower and surrounding buildings which are in direct sunlight A gothic (maybe? Idk much about architecture) church spire shot through rusted metal support beams. Other buildings can be seen through the gaps but the spire is centred through a diamond-ish shaped holeA collection of buildings making up a small piece of skyline. Smaller, older red brick buildings are dwarfed by modern towers made of metal and glass. The foreground is empty carpark with iron railings, and the sky is pale blue with light cloud

Tomodachi Life is amazing because you can just chuck in any character from any piece of media you're currently enjoying. Welcome to the island, Judge Holden of Blood Meridian fame.
A Tomodachi Life Mii with pale white skin, pinkish red eyes and a huge, toothy grin. He has bags under his eyes and pronounced cheek bones. He's wearing a black hat, double-breasted navy coat, black jeans and black cowboy boots.
A picture of Blood Meridian's Judge Holden. Like the Mii he has the pale skin, pink eyes and toothy grin. This version is a lot more vivid, the lines and wrinkles on his face becoming more prominent as he's lit harshly from underneath. The sky behind him is a vibrant red sunset

I remember being a teenager and scoffing at the idea that Mothman could simply be a misidentified owl, because what owl could possibly look like this? Well, case closed I guess.
A drawing of Mothman, a flying cryptid. It has a humanoid body, large wings longer that it's body (protruding above the head and ending just below the "feet"), and two big, red eyes set in a head that's positioned more on the upper-chest rather than on a neck.

The quoted post is very clearly an owl in flight, but in a similar shape to the Mothman picture and with two large red eyes positioned in around the same place as in the drawing above.

A holy tree, and some birds chilling on a powerline
A picture of a dead tree with a prominent hold in the middle, there's leaves on the top of the tree but I'm fairly sure it's ivy growing on the stump.

The grass in the foreground is slightly blurred, and a church can be seen in the background 7 small, brown birds sitting on a powerline against a backdrop of a dull, grey sky

It's here! Years in the making but I finally have a physical copy of this wonderful book. I read the ebook version but this time I'm thinking I'll read the chapters in numerical order for a change. What other book could you say that about?
Me holding The Paradox Paradox by Daniel Hardcastle, the cover features a colourful red/orange swirl around a black hole. On the ground, 10 silhouetted figures walk towards the black hole while one woman, closest to the camera, looks back over her shoulder.

Robert Shearman did a brilliant job with The Chimes of Midnight novelization, I wasn't sure it would capture the same distinctive atmosphere the audio play had but it might actually be better. Easily my favourite Doctor Who Christmas story, and strong contender for my favourite DW story ever.
The cover for the book Doctor Who: The Chimes of Midnight by Robert Shearman. It's a black cover with a red grandfather clock, the hands at one minute to midnight. A small blurb in the top right corner reads

"It seems to me that this is a murder mystery where the murders themselves are the red herrings..."

Got a camera for Christmas that I've been playing around with, so I'm going to start trying to post more pictures on here
A seagull on a metal pole painted white, with specks of rust showing through. In the background is a small stretch of water, and beyond that (slightly out of focus) is a large concrete pagoda and some other disused military buildings A forest of thin silver birch trees with a thick carpet of dead bracken. Grey/blue sky can be seen through the sparse canopy, and the whole scene is lit in a warm light that contrasts the otherwise wintery lookA brightly lit photo of a disused and dilapidated military building, just a small square tower likely used as a coastal lookout. It's surrounded by long, light brown grass.A bird of prey in flight (I don't know what kind specifically), framed by evergreen tree branches with small pinecones in the bottom left and top right corners

Landscapes mostly, but I wanted a better zoom than my phone can do without spending crazy money. These were all taken by hand, I was standing in the same spot for all 3 to give you some idea of what the zoom is like (you can just make out the bird in the first picture)
A wide-angle shot of a concrete jetty sloping down towards a river, with islands in the background. The sky is mottled grey with small blue patches, and two birds can just be made out sitting on poles either side of the jettyA zoomed in picture of the bird (a seagull) sitting on the post. It's facing left and looking towards the right, grassy slopes and some concrete pagoda type buildings can be seen in the background The same bird on the same post with the same background, this time facing left and slightly more blurred

I got the new Ainsley Master figure today (amazing set btw, this new era of Character Options is smashing it out of the park recently) but I noticed something interesting in the writeup on the back of the box. Is this the first time the TV Movie has been called The Enemy Within officially?
A picture of the back of the box giving a brief synopsis of the plot of the Doctor Who TV Movie in relation to The Master. The relevant part reads:

"...as it set in motion a series of events that ultimately lead to the Seventh Doctor's regeneration into the Eighth in 1996's Doctor Who: The Enemy Within."

Hell of a thing to pop up on my historical calendar today. History really does repeat itself, and the current tired and half-hearted conversations about gun control will be just as effective as Johnson's letter.
On this day in 1966, 59 years ago.

"Events: U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson, responding to a sniper attack at the University of Texas at Austin, writes a letter to Congress urging the enactment of gun control legislation."

Fully back into my Fallout Who Regenerated bs, so enjoy some screenshots I took of the Tardis in the wasteland of Fallout 4. This Tardis has a working chameleon circuit, I just ignore it because the aesthetic is too cool to pass up.
A screenshot of Fallout 4. It's dusk and there's a broken, rusty pylon which someone has converted into a shanty house with bits of wood and corrugated metal. In front of this stands a dark blue box, light emitting from the lamp on top and from the windows on each side.A screenshot of Fallout 4. It's daytime in an abandoned rail yard, rusty trains can be seen along the track and there's a small, dilapidated control tower in the background. In front of this stands a blue police box, with white windows and a black sign on the door.A screenshot of Fallout 4. A large stone building, largely intact, is slightly silhouetted against a bright sky. Ruined houses sit to the left, and large trees bare except from straggling vines grow to the right. A sign on the front of the building reads "museum of witchcraft".

In front of the short metal fence stands a blue police box, this time with yellow/orange windows and white sign on the door.

My favourite regular enemy in Elden Ring so far has got to be these awful hand-spiders. So far I haven't encountered any actual spiders, but these are somehow worse. They trigger the part of your brain that identifies them as spiders from the way they move, but they're actually even more horrible!
A huge, deformed and disembodied hand sitting on a wall like a spider would. It has about 12 fingers, the skin is grey and covered in boils and the nails are sharp and dark blue.Another hand, similar to before except the largest finger has rings on it. This time it's rearing on it's stump, fingers splayed as it's poised to attack the poor character standing in front of it. Another hand, this time attacking a different character. The middle finger (with the rings) has just hit the character, and the fingers either side are raised up like a spider trying to appear bigger to scare away predators.

These are really nice, the best B&M have done for a while imo. Each figure having an accessory adds a lot, even if the Cyberman can't really hold the rifle properly. I was mainly in this set for River, and she's definitely my favourite but the detail on the other figures is great too
3 Doctor Who figures standing in a line. From left to right:
A gold clockwork robot from The Girl in the Fireplace. It's dressed in gold and white, and in the style of 18th century France with lots of frills and high socks with the trousers tucked in. The head is a white porcelain mask with a long, curly wig and a sharp, jagged weapon is sticking out of the sleeve.

River Song, dressed all in black with her hair up in a pony tail. She had a utility belt with various pouches and tools, and her hand is resting on her gun which is holstered on her leg.

A Cyberman from the first RTD era, but without the Cybus logo on the chest as it's not from the parallel world. It has heavy looking armour over a darker under suit which can be seen through the joints, which are the only parts not covered by the thick steel armour. It's holding a large rifle under one arm, as it doesn't have the articulation to hold it properly in two hands. The same 3 Doctor Who figures, standing in the same order but in slightly different poses. The robot is standing with the mask & head piece over the arm, exposing the clear head with clockwork innards underneath. River is pointing her gun off to the left now, and the Cyberman is standing neutrally without the gun under the arm.
