48th Ward Democrats Statement on the Murder of Alex Pretti

Just like in the aftermath of the killing of Renne Good earlier this month, Kristi Noem and the Department of Homeland Security are trying to gaslight us into not believing what we can all see with our own eyes. We cannot allow this to diminish our resolve, and we must continue to stand with the people of Minneapolis as well as our immigrant neighbors here at home.
We demand justice for Alex, as well as immediate action by our elected officials, beginning with voting NO on the DHS appropriations bill this week. Rhetoric must finally meet action. Democrats need to draw a line in the sand and do everything in their power to block funding for these out-of-control agencies. Anything less is an insult to the memories of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, who should both be with us today.
