I've been wondering that myself. How could they really not know?

Yes, I am. I don't think I will ever be without a dog.

I learned to play piano when I was a kid and violin in my 40's. Some pieces seem to just naturally stick with you while others are a struggle (even with the music in front of you). Oddly, complexity doesn't seem to matter. Tibor - LEARN TO PLAY!! It's never too late and you have such appreciation!!

Beautiful piece. Masterful artistry made to look effortless.

Seemed to have been overshadowed by his more popular pieces but I always thought it was one of his best melodies. I first heard it for violin but think the solo piano version is the best.

Outstanding live album, top 5.

I think this is the first “real” piece I learned to play some 50 years ago. Still one of my favorites and one of the very few I can play from memory (mostly).

You got me, Tibor. When I listened to your post of this piece for piano earlier today, I thought what a heart-wrenching melody this would be on violin…and it is. Still haunting but without the lullaby vibe.

Thanks for introducing me to this wonderful piece.

Caught it in Portland some years ago. Seeing the Emperor live is transformational. An evening where all the noise disappears for a bit. Hope you get another chance to experience it...soon.

One of my favorites and I think one of LvB’s most beautiful compositions.

Beautiful. Great start to the day, thank you Tibor.
