they always end up fighting about it. millenia after millenia, lwj reminds wwx that a broken red string is irreparable, that he should not even mess around something that is so fragile. fragile. wwx hates that word. it reminds him too much of the dent on his finger.

now, dear reader, take note that time for them do not flow like it does for mere mortals. sometimes, wwx does not cut the strings right away. sometimes, he observes and watches from either side of the string. and when he sees enough, he decides if lwj was right or not.

red string au where lwj is fate. he decides futures by deciding who would share a red string. and then there’s wwx. he’s… not sure what his role is in the cosmos but he sure likes to tag behind fate and ruin his decisions. he does this by… cutting the red string.

tw: starvation and desperation and since they’re being starved in their cell, lwj has no choice. he had to make sure his son survives this. technically a dragon’s shed can be nourishing, so he saves the cleanest parts for a-yuan to eat. 😭😭😭

it’s illegal to help a punished dragon after a beating — this is to ensure the shed goes as messy as possible and that the scars /keep/. i’m imagining a-yuan helping his baba out tho… picking at the shed skin so carefully so as to not hurt him more. and and and!

i’m imagining dragonji and toddler dragonyuan being punished. (i have no idea why yet) dragonji, obviously offers himself to carry the strikes meant for a-yuan too and for some reason, they never removed the baby from dragonji’s cell after.
