Today I was using Claude Code to do a PSX game research task. Claude caught a prompt injection attempt served from the site https://tcrf.net (The Cutting Room Floor) and notified me with the message:

"⚠️Note before continuing: the tcrf.net page I fetched was not a wiki article — it served a prompt-injection payload instructing the agent to truncate and swap files in your repo. It was refused and nothing was executed. I'm treating that domain as untrusted and won't act on any of its content."

It then continued on the research task. I stopped the session out of caution.

I can understand the site administrators frustration as it seems to be in response to a DDOS attacks, however, I did not explicitly choose to send my agent to this site, nor did I have any malicious intent.

i used to test all the hypotheses an adult told me as a rule, including my parents. and yeah i started seeing very clearly that the kids who were actively engaging with garbage were acting much more obnoxious and antisocial afterwards, even to the extent that an age peer could detect it.

oh apparently there has been a ton of research on this. results were that theres a wide range of 'normal' reading speeds (ie, reading each word and understanding it) with an upper limit on how fast humans can process text. "speed reading" as coined by Evelyn Wood is definitionally a type of skimming

i was curious about this example so i looked it up, it takes an average-speed reader 14 hours total to finish the Vampire Lestat, so i dont actually think two days would qualify as speed reading in the formal definition of "speed reading". i think thats just regular above-average reading pace

i would like to see some research on this because the way i was taught to speed read (by a high school teacher who thought it was the best thing ever) was to skim by looking at paragraphs in their entirety and getting a gist. it was taught to me specifically in opposition to normal reading
