BBC Director General Matt Brittin has said the BBC must modernise its licence fee and suggested those who watch BBC content on Netflix, YouTube or TikTok could have to pay as part of a new replacement charge for the TV licence.

Today at the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool, we joined forces with Fairtrade Foundation, Kenyan coffee farmer Martin Kinyua, and drag star Tia Kofi to send a message to the PM: ‘wake up and smell the inequality in the coffee’ and make sure farmers get paid fairly for what they grow.
