I listened to Merle Haggard’s Back to the Barrooms today, and I did not expect such an instrumentally diverse album here. Electric Guitar, Piano, Drums and a wonderful saxophone on top of Haggard’s amazing voice. Definitely won’t be the last I hear of Merle Haggard.

I’m glad Phil Spector is dead, and he’s a horrible man, but he’s probably the best producer of the 60’s. That Wall of Sound style that he invented is so great, it sounds amazing today. Even when done today, Wall of Sound sounds so good when done well

Grateful Dead’s live music is so good that I straight up never intend to listen to their studio work. I saw the studio version of Dark Star, it’s 3 minutes long. I’m sorry, but Dark Star is supposed to be a good half hour long live jam session.

I find it funny that every album in this set that I’ve finished spinning are some of my favorite hip hop albums of the past decade… Some Rap Songs is tied as my favorite album ever, and Die Lit is handily my favorite trap album. 2018 was a wonderful year for music.
