Notice how TP and Hoover are dressed in actual costumes and PoopCOCK is dressed like Vaporwave Cyberpunk Pinterest Moodboard

Version without the neon stuff too bc I didn’t know if I liked them or now

Toothpaste, Hoover, and Poprock having a very normal and conflict free Splatoween. This totally isn’t the result of poor planning or communication. @shellfire.bsky.social #splatoon #splatoonoc #halloween

Dosidicus gigas (the Humboldt squid) is very closely related to TP, Herm, and Lynn’s species, but since they don’t glide Iota doesn’t look like the other three. Fun fact: phylogenetically speaking, Iota is closer related to Toothpaste than she is her actual cousin (Herm).

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 30/10/2025

You can go on the tab manager and make a new tab there. I’d probably use a “full tab” for a separate character that’s related to another

110

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 30/10/2025

Also yeah Lynn can glow bc they’re a luminous flying squid and shit. Iirc all 3 of these guys are technically bioluminescent but so are most squid species to some extent so who cares. I don’t know if this luminescence is too terribly relevant to anything, so it’s just an extra detail.

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 30/10/2025

I still like this chart, but having it on their refs is just more convenient.

100

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 30/10/2025

Very slight ref sheet tweaks for these three bc if I didn’t fix it now it would bother me forever. Literally just changing their face lineart color and being more specific about their species bc “flying squid” is incredibly vague. #splatoon #splatoonoc

Alt designs for some of my Splatoon guys that don’t use airbrush gradients. I’ve been trying to eliminate them from all my characters’ designs. Here’s who’s who since I don’t really talk about these guys a lot: Leopard shark: Stetson Axolotl: Rami Salmonid (thymallus): Tracy #splatoon #splatoonoc

He probably beat TP’s ass like 2 seconds after this scene btw

I wonder what this means (it’s another character info chart) #splatoon #splatoonoc

1102

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 14/10/2025

Min is probably standing on a stool or something here bc she’s like way shorter than she is here

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 14/10/2025

He doesn’t have a visible mouth so he looks like a bowling pin from the front

She’s asked him this at least twice now #splatoonoc

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 05/10/2025

(Art from like 2022) Soarrel’s design has literally barely changed throughout his entire existence btw, I just didn’t like his color scheme or patterning

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 05/10/2025

Size comparison between the other kids + some bum loser named Toothpaste

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 05/10/2025

After like 4+ years, Soarrel finally has a finished design and ref His personality is being gen alpha and loving brainrot #splatoon #splatoonoc

A minor disagreement between step brothers #splatoon #splatoonoc

He kinda looks like Pierce from AC tbh

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 03/10/2025

I have a horrible habit of like half finishing character concepts and then leaving them for like months to years lol. That “Erica” character is literally from like a year and a half ago atp.. i drew a concept for her in January but i didn’t like it. Hopefully i can finish the character soon..

1102

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 03/10/2025

Finally had an idea for a design + color pallet for Soarrel that I don’t think sucks complete ass

140

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 03/10/2025

Funnily enough I was also thinking about the poison ocellate. I was considering making a chara but I didn’t really want to tbh

110

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 02/10/2025

I also think the patterns that are on Lynn’s zipcaster’s upper arms, legs, and chest are actually present in their humanoid form as well, it’s just you don’t see it bc they’re wearing clothes over it I do not think TP has that chevron arrow pattern on her chest normally though

010

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 02/10/2025

The sides of TP’s head points up like this bc of her slightly curled ears Also her Zipcaster form has almost the exact same patterns as she had as a young kid

140

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 30/09/2025

Also TP has short hair when she was younger. She honestly hated it and has been growing her hair out ever since. Her hair’s been getting progressively longer

010

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 30/09/2025

Baby Toothpaste doodles bc I can’t settle on a design for her. These were originally meant to be serious doodles but they just kinda became whatever #splatoon #splatoonoc

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 28/09/2025

The weapon badges are the only thing I mostly took from the actual game I think, but they’re modified to resemble these guys’ customized weapons

120

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 28/09/2025

I love making custom splashtags. This time I wanted to try making basically everything (the banner the badges the titles etc) by myself. These were pretty fun to make so I might do more #splatoon #splatoonoc

I think even his own parents forget he exists

140

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 24/09/2025

In this Rio AU I think Toothpaste is that guy who keeps putting the gross nasty bird feathers in his mouth

140

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 24/09/2025

I do think the name Minerva is just super pretty and its meaning matched pretty well with my Agent 4, so I didn’t just steal it for no reason. I will also say that Agent 4’s nickname (Min) comes from this Adventure Time episode. I also just didn’t want to call her “Minnie” as a nickname.

120

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 24/09/2025

Minerva is my favorite character in Adventure Time. I love her so much that I completely stole her name and used it for my oc. It’s mine now. #splatoon #splatoonoc

Trying to teach myself how to just draw whatever so here’s me redrawing a screenshot from Rio 2 with my Splatoon ocs #splatoon #splatoonoc

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 21/09/2025

I really like drawing angry Toothpaste in particular. People sometimes ask me why i draw her to look so evil. This is because she is evil.

280

Toothpaste @2thpaste.bsky.social · 20/09/2025

Ngl I also just wanted to draw some expressions. I think I like drawing angry faces the most.

Whatever, go my flying squids (minus Iota I didn’t include her) #splatoon #splatoonoc
