235 frames with the D850 intervalometer at 30 second gaps. One of the visual elements in my star party story that was the latest in the Globe and Mail's Underexposed series. Drove to southwest Saskatchewan for the party and skies were pretty nice haha. www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic...

The bus was nowhere to be seen so I lost 15 minutes going back to grab the car. Gotta love Montreal traffic mayhem and weavers (ugh). But I made it and now my car smells of that glorious scent of wood fired Fairmount Bagels. #bagels #mileend

RIP. His work was breathtaking. Regret missing his q&a with Burtynsky a few years back. Sebastião Salgado, photographer known for Amazon rainforest images, dies aged 81

Some people hit that burger place with the orange bridge over 11 when heading to their cottage, but this is my fav spot when heading up to the cabin and I take the lazy route up.

So there's an independent bookstore crawl in Ottawa this weekend, ending at 5 today. Didn't do the crawl but picked up two books at Perfect Books (on Elgin St.), by Bill Bryson and Nicole Coenen. #books #independentboosktores

That time of year for Chinese to visit their ancestors at the cemetery (The Plot as I call it). Plant some flowers, bring some roast pork and steamed chicken. And burn candles and incense so the area where Chinese are buried, the air is infused with the scent of incense.

So once again, driving in to the cabin was not happening so hauling in supplies etc with the sled. Can't remember the last time snow was still around in April. Weather is not too cold but still chucking wood into the woodstove. Hope everyone has a restful and wonderful weekend

Glad week is over, so now listening to this underrated song by Joe Jackson. It may be cliché but it brings me back to those autumn New York nights in the 80's when I was visiting a friend who moved down to work on Wall Street.. Hope everyone has a restful weekend. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VgN...

When you wanna shave time and figure why not edit from the riser instead of the workspaces set aside for the media for election night coverage.

Finally got around (after 7 years) of making contact prints of 8x10 negatives from my chronicling (somewhat) of the place I called my other home, for 30ish years. Have a ton of uncut 120 film (Hasselblad) of same. Truly miss the neighbourhood, but not the horrible gridlock on Spadina Ave..

December can be either the most wonderful month, or the most miserable. While this is not what many would consider a Christmas song, it speaks to the other side of the festive, buy ! buy ! buy ! that many get caught up in. Think of, and be kind to others this month. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqX8...

First heard Creep way back when I was photographing New York Fashion Week, and it's been a favorite since then. Any Thom Yorke version is golden especially that animated acoustic version. This cover has to be right up there. Sung alongside Rag bilawal, it hits different. youtu.be/nZoHuoFQyrI?...

Traffic in Toronto sucked before bike lanes were installed, and will likely get worse if the bike lanes are removed. Don't blame cyclists for gridlock.

Six years ago I had this wild idea of photographing lesser known directors with my 8x10 camera during the Toronto International Film Festival. Friend, let me tell you that was something I should have thought about more, but I still made nice portraits. Some reg sheet film, some instant.

When I'm not working, you might find me making gelatin silver fiber prints. Or platinum, depending on what process I feel like.
