My Delight of the Day involves yet another construction project. Yesterday and today we gutted 2 former entertainment centers, the beginning steps to upcycling them into 2 badly needed large closets for our giant mud room. I've been waiting 2 yrs for this rip and tear! See ALT text.

Congrats! I love a good 2nd hand deal! Not from today, but recent. Our fixer is a retired church, and we were finally able to figure out a place to hang the giant bulletin board that came with the place, cut it down, and rehang it. 1/2

The crap on the grill was all over our stuff outside today, and that was supposed to be a partly cloudy sky. Smoke so heavy the warnings are telling everyone to stay in as much as possible.

I just bought 18 new ones. The lithops arrived Friday and the assorted 6 pack of others arrives today. Can't wait to see what I got!

I prefer uncoated well-seasoned CI. Have you considered cast aluminum? It's almost interchangeable with CI and can be used on a glass top, I think. It has its +/- like CI, but is nice cookware, too. The top left DO in the pic is cast aluminum. I've used it for everything my CI is used for. 🙂

We just bought a complete classic vintage waterbed for $50 to convert to a standard mattress. Never expected to find one! Needed the storage in headboard and 6-drawer base. Small room without space for dresser or other furniture.

They are burrow barriers. We considered them but they're expensive and flimsy. We used hog fencing cut with bolt cutters.

No, he wasn't stuck, just uncomfortable. He was trying eat from the feeder by hanging off of it. He had to rest sometimes though. Here's the awkward, tiring part. See alt text.

We have a 9x10 kennel within our new fencing, used when fence gates must be open. All yard gates are kept padlocked. The most used yard gate will be double gated when we get time.

Sorry about Alec. We just installed our $2 pee posts, made from salvaged plastic water lines. (Dogs don't care what pee posts look like.) You could use anything, even a patch of unmowed grass.

We made 6 from free ditch-picked plastic pipes for our annointer. They slide over little, cheap, easy to remove fence posts. Our boy doesn't care what he waters. Anything elevated will do. 🤣

I've been rediscovering macramé after about 50 yrs of not doing any. New house needs new plant hangers! No pic of last night's project, but here's one from earlier this month, before fringe got trimmed. Sorry for dark picture.

Can't wait to see pics! I love DIY, mine or anyone else's. Our house is on 2 lots with a 3rd empty lot down a short steep slope. We're developing the 3rd lot for dog yard & garden and the ramp is part of that. It's unsafe going up and down the slope with no steps or ramp. See alt text.

Mostly empty grassy side yard down a short slope from a red house on the right side of the pic. So far we've added an apple and a cherry tree, built a floor for and assembled a 10x12 steel shed at the back of the lot, set up 40' of fencing not shown in pic, and framed a 16' ramp, also not shown. Future plans include finishing the 40x65 fence, building a small 4x6 steel garden shed, 10x12 greenhouse, steps toward the front of the lot, raised garden beds, etc.
