Omfg Resident Evil was just as fantastic as I hoped!! It was like watching a playthrough of a scary resi like RE2 or 7. Cregger definitely the perfect ratio of horror and comedy for a resi movie, I'm excited to see it again tomorrow :3

Fourth - I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop with Floyd. Speaking of - the book was contemporary when it came out in 1975. In classic King style the story puts one foot about 20 years back while the other foot is planted in the current day If this were equally modern & historic now, that would be '26 & '05 ish. Makes me wonder what it would be like today

King writes small towns with such a specific blend of nostalgia, fondness, & unflattering rot. Literal or figurative. The fondness he has for small town Maine, especially of yesteryear, shows through. But also nasty secrets, openly shitty behaviour, & a certain kind of decay under weathered paint

What a fitting final showdown. I would love a sequel, or maybe an anthology of related stories from this world. I think I'm mostly dying of curiosity with Heather & her clearly Elm Street story. Everyone else is so rooted in mundane, physical reality but we saw something else with her in the end.
