Casual @2dcasual.bsky.social · 16/08/2026i would really like to draw furry designs again, but I havent been in the sphere for so long. is it possible for me to be a furry artist without being a furry myself ?! 240

Casual @2dcasual.bsky.social · 10/07/2026but I really truly think the key is to have loose guidelines, and make it very clear that not all folks will be compensated for their time. Maybe even add that people are welcome to use reference bases and just color as opposed to making a full sheet, just absolutely no AI! hope my feedback helps:3 120
Casual @2dcasual.bsky.social · 10/07/2026the artists entering to possibly resell their design as an adopt. However, if theyre too specific like "we want a grayscale wolf with big eyebrows" then it is very restrictive and most entries will look the same (and at that point, commissioning a few ppl for their takes is the better option) 2/? 120
Casual @2dcasual.bsky.social · 10/07/2026I think if your guidelines are vague enough "my partner likes to gold and we are hoping for a bird of some sort" or "my partner loves to be lazy and we are looking for a mammal design" or "any animal works, but he is hoping to be primarily blue" then the entries will be different enough for 1/? 120

Casual @2dcasual.bsky.social · 09/07/2026So much good comes from things like this besides the winning prize imo 010
Casual @2dcasual.bsky.social · 09/07/2026I think a lot of professional artists/character designers would feel the same way. If you treat contests like the one you propose as a exercise for your art brain as opposed to a financial opportunity... your mental becomes a lot better surrounding entering :3 thats just my two cents 110
Casual @2dcasual.bsky.social · 08/07/2026Personally I'd jump at the chance to make a fun furry design and MAYBE get paid 150$. Especially if you provide guidelines! If you say "we are looking for a design that features x , y , x" it's a really great chance to flex my design muscles and branch outside my usual. 230
Casual @2dcasual.bsky.social · 08/07/2026i dont think im as woke as everyone else. i think it's fine. people can choose to participate or not, so its not like youre forcing people into unpaid labor. If they dont want to risk their design not being chosen, simply dont enter. 240
