It was specifically the paragraph that contains the line "All the subtle demonisms of life and thought" This one, for added help knowing what I read, and I... I mean I chugged along, but fuck me it felt kinda rough somehow? Best way I could describe it was that it felt... cluttered?

Despite this being for describing the picture, can I instead use this to talk about how much I genuinely appreciate how hard it's hammered home how *deeply* of a hatred this is for a mere whale?

I mean the writing here makes sure to hammer home deeply and without fault the sheer depth of Ahab's disgust at the whale existing.

Each sentence after Ahab had his leg sheared off (without a second sentence, which feels *more* visceral somehow than describing it any further) is literally just building up for the ultimate idea of Ahab practically just "getting the energy out of his system"

I mean like-
"He piled upon the whale's white hump the sum of all the general rage and hate felt by his whole race from Adam down..."

The only "demerit" that one could reasonably claim is on page 34 in which it's said that Jews exploited the system against blacks (The Jews didn't make it, by the way, but this is how the system works! Anybody not under the system exploits it!) This is the worst demerit that I could find
