And frankly, your tequila and orange juice choices are much more questionable 😀

Makes sense. I do think the risk is high though, given where we are with AI and its ability to facilitate analytics. My fear is that we'll hear a lot of stories of misreported numbers, and company incidents due to AI hallucinations. Not sure if MCP on its own provides enough of a guardrail...

That's an interesting approach, and I'm curious how that's working out for your company. How are you overcoming the "multiple definitions of the same KPI" problem and hallucinations without a semantic layer as source? Or do you have something similar in place?

This is the unfiltered truth I am here for. Thank you for putting into words what a lot of us have been thinking for a while, but didn't necessarily have the time to prove out.

Yep, and more expensive than the 2024 Summit...even with the reduced schedule :-/

1. Log a support ticket 2. Wait for months 3. Decide not to use the Git integration, even for development environments :-/

Martin Schoombee @28twelve.consulting · 24/02/2026
Could be permissions, but honestly it's difficult to say what it could be. I have found the Git integration to be pretty buggy, and don't use it in production environments at all. Prefer to generate/store the ARM/BICEP scripts myself, and then check into source control.

As of this morning, I am on the job market, #OpenToWork, or however that is designated here. 🙂 I’m immediately looking for a new position, and my DMs are open. Thanks network!

Yes for sure. Let's not forget that Power BI had its foundations in Analysis Services, which was as solid as a rock at that point. I feel like that enabled that approach.

If I were however to move to the cool kids club and "modern data warehousing", I'm not sure Fabric would be my first or even second choice.

Martin Schoombee @28twelve.consulting · 14/12/2025
Totally agree. Being on the bleeding edge is getting more and more expensive. I actually don't mind being in the land of ADF, Azure SQL and Stored Procs still. They work as advertised, every time :-)

Martin Schoombee @28twelve.consulting · 14/12/2025
This is the exact reason why I haven't recommended Fabric to any of my customers, and probably won't for the foreseeable future. Creating technical debt just to make a product work, is not where I want to be.
110
Martin Schoombee @28twelve.consulting · 11/12/2025
Serious question: On a scale of 1 to 10, how likely are you to recommend Fabric after the deployment?
