Walking home the other day I found two bolete mushrooms I had not found before and did not recognise. After some research I landed on oak boletes, taste test confirmed they were not one of the bitter boletes which was the second most likely species. #fungifriends

And for the Laetiporus (Chicken of the woods), some people are mildly allergic to it, try only a small bit first.

Oops. I meant it as a general remark, not specifically for this one. Always be 100% sure! Having said that, it's most likely a bolete that is not going to kill you. Possibly a birch bolete although the black scaling on the stem is not very clear

Basically, I don't think the economics of stopping in Kent add (and Brexit made it worse)

Willem van Hoorn @20questions.one · 17/08/2026
Two stops in Kent negates the high-speed advantage, there can only be one. Alternating stops ensures both stations have too infrequent stops to be viable. When Ashford was the only (infrequent) Kent stop I used to be one of the max few dozen passengers getting on or off.

I know universities in the UK are underfunded, but paying extra for an exam resit, really? I would have thought administering exams is core business, not an optional extra. I grumble but can afford it, but not everyone is in that position. What if you have to resit an exam for no fault of your own?

I presume this is in the Netherlands? Giveaway is the cyclist at the start who ignores the roundabout and takes a direct left turn. The bike roundabout seems superfluous but when many bikes arrive at once at least it makes everyone slow down and look.

Tempted enough to look into this. Rosary peas are tropical, the UK is probably too cold. And it’s spread by birds, I guess they don’t chew the seeds and it doesn’t kill them.
