my last ppt was for a toxic AI apocalypse yaoi so heres another: why you should read Happy Doomsday by Nian Zhong !!!!!!!!! i cant stop thinking about this novel its so good, literally best thing i've read all year [ #danmei #danmeisky #danmeirecs ]

text: "Why you should read Happy Doomsday by Nian Zhong". visuals: grungy aesthetic with industrial style decals and some smiley face stickers.

text: My 1 sentence pitch: A scifi apocalypse story in which the main characters manage to save the world by being the two biggest weirdos in the entire doomsday.

"This is not a story of saving the world. This is a love story ✔️"
- Nian Zhong

Novelupdates description:

Genius scientist Ruan Xian was in a coma for several years. Once he opened his eyes, his waist no longer felt pain, his legs had healed, and he could jump around. Unfortunately, the artificial intelligence outside ran out of control and ushered in the end of mankind.

Fortunately, his luck was still strong, and he successfully captured a partner with great survival skills.

Tang Yibu: Our models are old and especially easy to scrap.

Tang Yibu: Remember, the first principle of safety. Never get too close to humans.

Ruan Xian: ……What?

This is a story about a dumb AI x a cynical scientist.

text: Ruan Xian/Lijie (shou)

• Has (presumably) been in a coma for 12 years and suddenly wakes up in the apocalypse, with his last memory being of his own murder.
• He doesn’t know how much of him is human, or if he even is human at all.
• Great at acting and pretending to be innocent...
• A little bit insane.
• ......Ok maybe more that a little bit.. A lot insane.

Tang yibu (gong)

• :D
• Food is his number one love
• He is an android undercover, with a mysterious past and goal....
• He thinks Ruan “Lijie” is an android too, and as far as Ruan Xian knows, he might as well be right.
• Actually the cutest gong ever
• Very real picture of him below ⬇⬇

Left: art from the physical traditional cn books
Right: art by Nian Zhong, posted to weibo

text: Reasons you should read:
• When you love someone so much you have no choice but to kill them 😳😳
• The relationship development,,,,,, its an absolute rollercoaster but it feels so rewarding when they finally get their happy ending. Eventually.
• Android who seems too human x human who seems too,,, not human
• FAKE DATING ‼‼‼‼ AAAAAAAAAAAA
• The epitome of matching each others freak..... theyre both absolutely insane...
• Also there’s some rlly good side characters (Ji Xiaoman my beloved <3) and side CPs, but these two make me so insane I can only talk about them.
• Like I cannot stress enough how fucking weird these guys are. I love them so much.
