November 20th is Transgender Day of Remembrance. TDOR was founded by Gwendolyn Ann Smith, a transgender woman, in 1999 to honour the life of Rita Hester, a black trans woman who was murdered in 1998. Protect your trans friends and family, speak up for them, and listen to them.

Something a lot of people working in queer advocacy are struggling with right now is no amount of messaging research can replicate the effect of having a trans person in your life whose happiness and well-being is dependent upon you fighting like hell, especially if that trans person is yourself
