So when it's run at a profit and eventually bought out by some firm in the way everything is nowadays, who will it answer to? It doesn't make sense to me that you'd complain that it's a right wing organisation but simultaneously will it to be run like all the other right wing organizations.

I don't like the idea that the BBC should be financially independent. It's a bit like libertarian ideals and the reality is that those don't work for every scenario. Any paid service would inherently be open to being co-opted by the right wing/capitalist interests anyway

A subscription would still mean catering to what the masses want to see. More of the same. As it is, art can be created that isn't popular in its time. Here in Canada, it's the right wing trying to get rid of our public broadcaster. Seem to remember it was the same in the UK too a few years back.

It's accused of both being a left wing and right wing vehicle because it's founding principles are that it isn't supposed to pay allegiance to any party and has to present all views. It's licensing model means it can create award winning niche content without having to pander to advertisers.

What's there to disagree with? I'm describing how I use YouTube. 20-30 is pretty much my max, but I don't find them prohibitive in that range, I just watch them at different times. But for me an hour becomes a really niche situational watch, and then if I couple that with niche subject matter...

I used one of these a month or so ago while doing some repairs on a model 1 genesis. Stood up from it and thought I'd overstretched my shoulder/back. One month and multiple physio/massage sessions later I was still struggling terribly! Didn't recover properly till I took a big fall somewhere.

I always assume a lot of UI changes come via user requests. "Needs a more modern look" is a common complaint. My experience is in health care software but we'd get requests from some ancient nurse somewhere to move something to somewhere that made more sense to them too.
