martinbaker_eject instagram: 7829 lives saved
A meme showing a collage of crashed planes, an ejection seat firing and a fighter pilot doing a thumbs up it reads. "Yep, Another Certified Martin-Banger", it also says 9 billion crashed F16s, 1.8 billion F18s and 9 million F35s with 0 failed ejections.

A small text on the image reads "seriously we're losing like two jets a week at this point what's going on does anyone know?

I guess it's on me thinking that 'location' refers to a web page not a physical location inside of a password manager...
a form field of onepassword, labeled 'location' where I entered 'dash.cloudflare.com' the error mentions it cant find the latitude and longitude of that url

A circular badge with the postgresql elephant in the middle, text around it says "made with postgresql - not AI"

@ljrk seems like they just also store the keys on their server, support.google.com/a/answer/1432848… at which point, not sure how much ads on top of TLS?
How is CSE different from end-to-end (e2e) encryption?

With end-to-end encryption (E2EE),

encryption and decryption always occur on the source and destination devices (such as on mobile phones for instant messaging). Encryption keys are generated on the client, so as an administrator, you don't have control over the keys on the clients and who can use them. In addition, you don't have visibility into which content users have encrypted.

With client-side encryption (CSE),

encryption and decryption also always occur on the source and destination devices, which in this case are the clients' browsers. However, with CSE, clients use encryption keys that are generated and stored in a cloud-based key management service, so you can control the keys and who has access to them. For example, you can revoke a user's access to keys, even if that user generated them. Also, with CSE, you can monitor users' encrypted files.

Missed the opening talk while I was at #FOSDEM, now watching it back on my way home. Really appreciate the clear, strong messaging.

server migrations, coffee and a book :)
A ThinkPad is open on a dark table, displaying terminal output. In the foreground is a copy of Dante's "The Divine Comedy" book with a classical painting cover. A brown mug with coffee is next to the laptop and book

lol don't think I've seen such strongly worded NixOS docs before haha
If you want to for some ununderstandable reason disable auditing if auditd enabled it then you can set this option to false. It is of NixOS’ opinion that setting this to false is definitely the wrong thing to do - but it’s an option.
