Few days late, not like I use social media anyway. But my birthday was a few days ago and I finally turned 30. I started working out at the start of this year and achieved my gym goal of pretty easily being able to princess carry people. I have high hopes for my thirties, starting off strong.

I've made a lot of progress making friends IRL. Putting yourself out there all the time is stressful and tiring, but it's worth it. You learn to deal with rejection and awkwardness the more you go through it, and it really doesn't bother me anymore. You can make friends, even if you're nearly 30.

I guess really even more beyond that, external validation will never be the thing that makes you feel accomplished or happy in most aspects of life. Fitness is a personal journey you take for yourself, not for anyone else. I'm proud of myself for sticking to it.

First rule to feeling good about getting in shape? Do not go on twitter and see what eternally online people call a "Dad body." I look great and came a long way, but I don't take steroids, or gear or extra testosterone. I do not want 1% body fat. I want to survive past 40 and be happy and fit.

You could also give Josei and Seinen anime a try, but their themes and tones are generally less happy go lucky and charming as their shojo and shonen counterparts.

Cowboy Bebop, Spike Spiegel is 27, and his partner Jett is 36, Faye is 23 and they do eventually pick up a kid and dog along the way. The vast majority of the cast are adults with interesting stories.

Much like a real prom, the experience was often awkward, and disappointing for a good number of people. Scheduling issues, poor compatibility between prom dates who wanted to participate but maybe didn't know their prom date that well, and actual high-school levels of drama got in the way.

A little kid was at my gym with his Dad, and he smiled and waved at me, came up to me, and told me about his favorite toy car for a few minutes. He was adorable and now I feel an emotional fulfillment I've never felt before. I will add I have not bought or played Pragmata yet, but I get it.

I ended up taking a day off, Mother's Day is rough and I need more time to just relax. Not like I can bug other friends to hangout with me on a day they are celebrating with their wives or mothers or both. Still left her flowers and tried to have a nice day for her, but stuff like this is tiring.

People that drive trucks and put anime stickers on them are locked in for being Isekai'd if they die in a crash. (I had to get this intrusive thought out of my head.)

My sister makes homemade sourdough bread and even experimented making cinnamon sourdough bread and every time it's out of this world. She then proceeds to come out of nowhere and says "I learned how to make macarons." And proceeded to give me a fresh batch as a gift. I am blessed as a big brother.

My gym arc is actually causing progress now... Having a gym buddy really improves everything. Anyway I am becoming a stronger yeehaw person, and that's what I've been up to. Actually feels pretty good.

It's either government tech support, or I go full gym bro and become a firefighter at much lower pay. But something has to change.

I think I'm going to try and aim for a government job. Late stage capitalism in the private sector is truly terrible. Even if you do everything right, nothing protects you from shareholders wanting a bigger cut. Pay is terrible too. Maybe I can be tech support for my state.

This isn't a good place to vent, but my options are slim. No one I can rely on, and I've held back these depressing posts for 2 years. Just need to let a little of this out so I can stop hyper-focusing on it. All I can do is keep trying my best I guess. Sorry if I made your timeline more dreary.

Life has been difficult since my Mom passed away. It's not like she didn't teach me to take care of myself. I was 27 when she passed, finished with college and starting a new job. Others have been far less fortunate than me. But I miss her wisdom and advice, everything is harder now.

I can't possibly count how many times I've seen my buddy art style looks like A Hat in Time. Truth is... Of course! Hat in Time was fantastic! I loved it! Buddies are almost fan art. At least at the start. Hat kid is the base for proportions and how the face looks. So there!

Tried sashimi and sushi for the first time. Every moment until now has been wasted not eating sashimi and sushi. It is possibly the best thing I've ever tasted.

I actually did! I met a handful of nice people. They even helped me get the Boothill avatar I was using set up a bit better. (He kept going on his tippy toes because my height was set too low.) I'm starting to see some of the charm.

I think I'm too old to understand VR Chat. I get the appeal of the avatars, but I don't really understand wanting to listen to teenagers screech memes/racial slurs. The VR fishing worlds are pretty cool though. Usually a nice chill place. Everywhere else it's just difficult to talk.

have faith in your own experiences and interpretations!!! let your personal experience of something have meaning, as opposed to trying to find the “correct” meaning

If you like FFT at all I highly recommend Final Fantasy Tactics Battleground. It's a 4v4 AI match where viewers get to submit units and fight each other on Twitch. It's my favorite run in the background when working stream. Very fun community too.

There's a lot of other very important lessons in Dune, but I felt this one in particular was the most practical and easily applied, lol.

Oddly enough, during the early portion of Dune, where they discuss the importance of training whether you *feel like it* or not has stuck with me. Books are good for the soul. There's always a little something that sticks with you. I wish I had been a more avid reader growing up.

I have a strange goal list at the moment. It's to be capable of easily jogging 3 miles and to get furniture to make my apartment into the modern rustic style. There is nothing wrong with the broke college kid style, but it's no longer for me! I want furniture that elicits joy!

I'm doing fine! Re-reading this, I can see how it could be interpreted in a more negative fashion lol. Take it at face value. I just don't really have a reason to make social media posts anymore, and the best way to reach me will be discord or direct message. Kind of you to check though!

I pretty much don't use social media anymore now that I don't stream. There isn't really a point. Posting negative things offers no relief, and when posting positive things, no one really has anything to add. ^^' If you ever need something from me, just DM me directly on Discord.

I felt I'd be disingenuous if I said, "I would wish it upon no one." Haha! Thanks for catching on to that. But yeah, it's very unpleasant, and I react very poorly to painkillers, which makes it even more unpleasant. This curse should be kept to a minimum. ^^

I wish I was better at writing just to improve the alt text. Well, maybe writing isn't my issue. It's getting lax with the visual details. But the visual is a small component to how I remember things. I remember feelings first and foremost. I'll forget your face, but remember how I felt.
