Because the hundreds of billions that have been moved from publishers and advertisers to Google and Facebook are hundreds of billions of dollars that are no longer paying for news and entertainment production.

They're hundreds of billions of dollars that businesses have to recoup by raising prices on *you* to pay their advertising bills.
