Ghana, Israel, & Norway rose to Tier 1; Seychelles fell to Tier 2. Syria and PNG left Tier 3. Syria also came off the child soldier (CSPA) list and the state-sponsored trafficking list. The CSPA list shrank from 17 to 14 governments; Nigeria was added. 8/n

The US narrative shrank most of all: 13,396 words in 2024, 3,250 in 2026. It reports that federal funding for NGO victim services fell from $82.3m to $18.9m and that the national action plan lapsed. The US remains Tier 1. New passages praise Texas and Florida. 9/n

Finally, the 2026 #TIPreport includes the highest reported # of prosecutions (24,254) and victims identified (156,912) of any year since this table begins in 2019. Nevertheless, the country narratives that explain those numbers are much thinner than a year ago. 10/n
