This is essentially how I feel about it too, now that 8.0 is on the horizon. DT set up a bunch of potentially interesting things (tension/competition between the Scions! Exploring a new continent! A lost shard that is actively hostile towards the Source!), but then couldn't commit 100% to any of it.
@aelynn000.bsky.socialI had 90000 theories and ideas that would have been 10000x more interesting, even as I was playing i was like "but what if this is setup for exploring this" and none of it happened.
DT was fine, but very light on the narrative/ impact and I basically accept it as a simple bridge to the new arc now.
