Kimberly Smith @kimandmickysmith.bsky.social · 16/01/2025Cops are not your friends. They are the American cartel... militarized and funded and protected by our government. 030
Mykl Sandusky @myklsan.bsky.social · 16/01/2025Thank you for the information. Using it to structure consideration of my experience, it helped understand the apathy veteran police officers tend to gain. They need a paycheck like most of the rest of us. If the system rewards public over personal, people who deliver it will rise. 1/ 110

John Murphy @johnsmurphy.bsky.social · 16/01/2025I think the police are a heterogeneous environment. In some ways they protect us, many ways they uphold disparity and inequality. Individual police officers I have found are outstanding people 99 times out of 100. The rules society has them enforce? That's us as the electorate. We made this. 000
grumnic.bsky.social @grumnic.bsky.social · 16/01/2025Anyone who has lived in or spent time in low income neighbourhoods has never believed “to serve and protect”. It’s “enforce and punish” unless you’re rich and white. 030
ChofuAlum @chofualum.bsky.social · 16/01/2025All cops are criminals and they're are about to be granted absolute immunity. R*pe, SA, murder are about to become the popo's business. We won't need lawyers anymore because vigilante justice by criminal cops will be the flavor of the day. Guarantee ALL criminals are flocking to become popo. 030
Brian Marron @brianmarron.bsky.social · 16/01/2025Also if they get angry or scared they are allowed to kill you to protect themselves. 020
StupendousMan @stupendousman.bsky.social · 16/01/2025I cite to DeShaney herein as well. Every bit as heart breaking, and angrifying, is Warren v. District of Columbia, 444 A.2d 1 (DC Cir. 1981), and the story behind it (find that on wiki). 000
