I’ve only ever *hosted* one Thanksgiving meal ever so — for the only time — in my life I was responsible for the turkey. Also, I was living in Beijing at the time so everyone I was hosting was away from home for the holidays so I felt a LOT of pressure. 🧵/x

But for 20 something people I got two turkeys and I did as I was supposed to and moved them to the fridge the day before. But I woke up Thanksgiving morning and they were still frozen SOLID. 2/x

You should've pulled it out days ago... I pulled mine out last Saturday and it still had frozen chunks in it when I opened it to try to stuff in my crockpot. BREAST DOWN for Juicy White Meat. The dark drippings keep the meat moist.

my first ( and last) thanksgiving hosting i set the oven to broil by mistake and broiled the turkey. was able to get enough cooked meat off the top to serve but didn’t realize WHY it wasn’t cooked all the way through so didn’t change the oven setting and proceeded to broil the apple pie.
