Incumbent senators typically win reelection about 80–90% of the time. This is why the GOP is hiding the condition of McConnell. If Governor Beshear challenges Republican law that took away his authority to appoint a temporary senate replacement and WINS, Kentucky will have a Democrat incumbent.
