It’s all Kabuki theatre. Tesla’s board member’s are famously subservient to Musk’s whims. They do not provide independent oversight in any traditional sense. Musk himself is likely the primary source of the WSJ article to create a defense against stockholder lawsuits. It’s a shell game.

I wouldn't trust anything about this story unless the entire board resigns and a new board made of independent individuals is formed. The board is incapable of firing Musk without Musk wanting to leave the company. So, protests must continue to tank Tesla sales and stock.

No way Elon isn’t orchestrating this. I suspect it’s to bring in an “arms length” ceo to negotiate a solar city for xai. $tsla is only thing that cash flows in the empire and it’s cf is dwindling so time is running out. Financial engineering is all that’s left.

Even if he steps down as CEO (and that's a BIG if), he's still majority shareholder. It's much more likely the rest of the board opts out and bald Hitler buys the whole thing for pennies on the dollar. No, Tesla needs to burn to the ground.

Well, Tesla’s board are now denying it on WSJ. I’m old, so I remember the days when the Politburo in Moscow kept on releasing news reports of how well their (dead) party leader was doing. I seem to remember that they kept it up for 3 weeks before admitting that he was dead
